The Sun in Aries illuminates the big picture

Welcome back to the Essential Astrocast.

I am your host, Veronica Perretti,
and this is the podcast you listen

to when you want to know what's going
on up in the heavens so that you can

dictate your fate down here on earth.

All right, let's all take a deep breath.

There's a lot going on in the sky.

It is an intense week,
but a really helpful week.

And those of you that are not
new to astrology, you know that a

lot of times we demonize Saturn.

He is not the most welcomed
guy at the party because Saturn

can feel like a wet blanket.

Saturn can really force us to see reality.

He can really force us to deal
with our responsibilities.

And that's not fun.

That's not the fun stuff.

We'd rather be hanging out with Venus.

We'd rather be hanging out with Mars.

We'd rather be hanging out with
Jupiter, doing the fun stuff,

taking action, making life happen.

Saturn is a planet that is cold and slow.

It makes us take a minute.

Slow down and be discerning and
purposeful, and that is what we're

going to have a little bit of this week.

Now, mind you, Saturn is an Aries and as
an Aries and as an Aries whose birthday

is coming up, I have the Saturn conjunct
the sun in my solar return, or rather the

sun conjunct Saturn in my solar return.

Every year the sun comes back to the
exact spot where it was when you were

born, and this is your birthday, AKA,
your solar return and astrology language.

And it often happens the day before your
birthday because of course astrology.

It's not exactly 365 days
that the sun takes to or the

earth takes to around the sun.

So with that, your solar return
is that exact moment where the

sun comes to the exact degree.

Of where your natal son is,
the moment you were born.

And so every year on your solar return,
your birthday, you get a chart for

that moment and that chart gives you
some insight into what the themes for

that year of life are going to hold.

And lucky me, my solar
return this year for year 43.

Has that sun conjunct Saturn, and we call
this Saturn Kami, which means that the

Saturn has entered the heart of the sun.

When a planet, any planet enters the
heart of the sun, experiences this

conjunction, this joining with the sun,
there is a purification that happens.

There is an illumination that happens, and
so we get the pure essence of that planet.

And Saturn, while he is a little
bit of a wet blanket, and we do

think of him as teaching us the hard
lessons, he or she is a wise elder.

Someone we go to for the wisdom
who has walked the path before us.

So we show up to Saturn as the
student willing to learn the lesson.

The Saturn transit's gonna go
a lot easier, so this week.

We have the Sun and Aries.

So as you know, last week we had
the spring equinox on Friday.

Friday was a busy day.

I talked about this last week's podcast.

Friday was Mercury, stationing,
direct, and we also had.

The spring equinox, so the day that the
sun enters the sign of Aries, and I love

equinoxes because equinoxes, the sun,
the spring and the fall equinoxes are the

two days of the year where the sunlight.

And the dark of night
are equal and balanced.

And it always reminds me of this
principle from yoga that the time of

God is the dawn when the light and
the dark coexist peacefully and I.

Always love that metaphor for
the Equinox, the light and the

dark coexisting peacefully.

And we are at a time where
there is not a lot of peace.

We are in a time where there is a
lot of strife, there is a lot of

pain, there is a lot of turmoil.

And so anywhere where we can find a sense
of peace, anywhere where we can find a

sense of balance is going to be useful.

So while Saturn is not the most
exciting guy, he will make us get real

this week about what we have to be
working on, what we have to focus on.

What is our responsibility,
what is our work?

Now sun.

The sun is not just talking to Saturn.

The sun was joined with Neptune on
Sunday, and you might remember back

in February I spoke about how Saturn
and Neptune were joining together

for the first time since 1989 and.

At that time, the Saturn, Neptune
in conjunction was indicative

of the Berlin wall falling.

And that's a great metaphor for Saturn.

Neptune in conjunction, because Saturn
is boundaries, Saturn is restrictions.

Saturn is the container, Neptune is
the vastness, the lack of a container,

the dissolving of boundaries.

Think of the ocean.

And you know, we have those.

Storm surges now when we have these big
hurricanes and it just, the ocean just

flies over pounds, over those storm walls,
and then the water infiltrates the city.

And so I was in New York City for
17 years, so we had a couple of

big storms, including Hurricane
Sandy when that happened.

And then the power went out in
Hurricane Sandy because the, the

water came over the storm wall.

Into Con Edison.

So it's kind of that feeling
of we can't control it.

It is so vast and beyond our ability to
contain that is the essence of Neptune.

So the sun is illuminating that energy
in our lives, and I know for me,

I, Neptune is not only all of that
he is the Lord of the ocean, but we

also think of Neptune as our ideals.

Neptune is our beliefs, our
connection to spirit, our connection

to empathy and compassion.

Collective consciousness.

The consciousness we share as humanity,
not just you and me, but connected to the

larger consciousness that we all share.

So with that, the sun illuminated all of
those things on Sunday, and so on Sunday,

we might have felt, or at least I did,
I was deep in the doom scrolling, seeing

all the things going on in the world.

For me personally, the stories coming
out of daily detention center in Texas

where there are many children many
women, young women who, young girls who

have gone into the detention center,
not pregnant and are now pregnant.

Those stories really have a grip on me.

I am, of course, there's so much going
on, you know, pick your poison as to

what you were going to spiral out about.

But for me, the stories about, people on,
in this country, within the borders of

this country where I live and I pay taxes,
people suffering here unnecessarily is.

Completely abhorrent
and unacceptable to me.

So for me, those are the things that
have been really making me spiral.

And the sun conjunct Neptune on Sunday
really sent me spiraling about some of

those stories that have been coming out.

And then I'm following on Instagram
and Threads and other places,

other news sources and of course.

You know, if you are not following
those things, you're not gonna see them.

'cause we're living in this moment
where information is siloed and we

have to seek out that information.

And that's kind of why I am just
dropping that into this episode.

Because if you're not aware of
what's going on, unfortunately

we can all take, we can all take
naps, but none of us can go asleep.

All of us have to.

Take rest breaks to take
care of ourselves, but we

can't completely fall asleep.

We have incarnated at this moment, at
this time to wake up, to be here, to be

part of this chapter of human history.

So we can't fall asleep.

We just can't.

If you need to rest, take a nap.

You know what I mean?

I'm given metaphors here, with that I
totally spiraled about that situation.

And the way I dealt with
it was I signed up to give.

Sizable monthly donations to two
organizations that are helping

immigrants in this country.

One of them is Rices, R-A-I-C-E-S,
and that it works with a lot of people

in detention in Texas specifically.

So you can look them up and
you can, also support them.

So with that, I just wanna say
that these, this astrology.

You get to choose how you ride it.

You can ride it in a way that spins
you out and makes you feel numb,

or you can ride it in a way that
you let it activate you and you get

real about what you can contribute.

So sun conjunct Neptune, perhaps
you felt the swelling of your heart.

Then we have the sun.

Moving towards Saturn.

Mind you, sun, Neptune conjunctions in
general make us feel really exhausted

because Neptune wants us connecting
with that higher consciousness.

It's not really about the reality.

The mundane, so Saturn, Neptune
being so close together in Aries,

having that conjunction in February,
they're strange bedfellows.

Neptune wants us to
meditate, to sleep, to dream.

Saturn is like.

Are you working?

Are you working hard enough?

Are you doing your work?

Are you honoring your
karma and your dharma?

So are you being discerning?

So they have very different interests
and very different things to teach us.

So when they come together, it
can be a really confusing time.

And Richard Tarnas, who's a very
famous astrologer, he talks about.

How these transits, which are every
35 ish years, they tend to be times

of grand disillusionment throughout
society, A feeling of hopelessness,

but it is also followed by a
time of great hope and progress.

So we are in that.

We're in that moment of despair of perhaps
a feeling of hopelessness or helplessness.

But Saturn is here this week being
illuminated by the sun saying, let's

get real about what you can do.

Let's get real about
your responsibilities.

And if your bandwidth is to just
focus on your piece of paper,

then focus on your piece of paper.

If your bandwidth is to maybe
focus on your local community,

then focus on your local community.

If your bandwidth is to get
out there and help candidates

get elected, then go do that.

You have to find what your bandwidth
is and how you can support, but.

There's something that we all can do.

There's something that we can
all show up for, and history

is made by those that show up.

So Saturn this week is being
like, Hey, how are you showing up?

What's important for you?

What's your job?

What's your purpose?

What's your karma at this moment?

That has to be played out.

So the sun joins with Saturn on Wednesday.

Of course.

It's really illuminating the whole
experience of these two planets being

joined together, Neptune and Saturn.

I'm dicing them out a little bit because.

The sun, it's, there's a few days in
between, but for all intents and purposes,

we're kind of feeling the mishmosh
of confusion of emotions altogether.

I will say that Sunday, Monday, I was
feeling so exhausted and then it's

starting to lift today, so perhaps
that Neptune, perhaps it's not.

But there's other stuff playing into this.

This is really big and because the sun
is an Aries touching these planets in

Aries and we've never experienced these
planets conjunct add zero Aries like

we did in February, the sun is really
taking a big spotlight to these two

planets, having this epic generational
shifting meeting of the minds.

And then what happens?

The sun sex tiles Pluto, and that
means Saturn is sextiling Pluto

as well, which we are getting to.

So the sun sex tiles Pluto and
says, Hey, you have more power

than you think you have power.

Don't allow yourself to feel powerless.

Remember who you are.

Tap into that and then step into
the world owning your power.

That's the sun and Aries
talking to Pluto and Aquarius.

Okay.

Because Aries is like, Hey, I'm here
and I can say this 'cause I'm an Aries

with a whole lot of Aries in my chart.

And the, we get a lot of crap for
being impulsive and perhaps a little

bit self-involved, but the beauty.

Of our sign is that we're courageous,
we're brave, we raise our hand

and we go first and we show that
everybody else can do it too.

And that's Aries is the
pioneer of the Zodiac.

So here we are, lead in
the way delivering the um.

The reality check thanks
to Saturn this week.

So as we get through the week, we move on
to, and we'll get to that Saturn, Pluto.

I'm coming back to it.

Don't worry.

We get to Thursday and we have
Venus joining with Chiron.

This is gonna be a little sticky because
Venus and Aries, it's very sensitive

because Aries people don't realize
this, but we fire signs are a very

sensitive bunch, especially Aries.

We're very self-focused because, you
know, we're the baby of the zodiac.

So we get our feelings hurt
very deeply and very frequently.

So the venous conjunct Chiron
is saying, am I doing enough?

Am I enough?

Am I enough for just existing?

Aries is the first sign of the Zodiac.

It's the essence of the infant being
born, the child, the fool, and tarot

stepping into the abyss over the cliff
because they just don't know any better.

They just don't know that there's
possibly danger out there for them.

So the wound for Aries is feeling
like they've done something wrong

by just being them, by just existing
Venus and Chiron coming together.

It's going to encourage us to possibly
work with some of those wounds to possibly

seek out some healing conversations to
possibly fight for someone else's right to

exist because Aries loves an underdog and.

Astrology, you know this, none
of us are living in a silo.

Even if our algorithm is creating it to
look like our world is a silo, we're not.

We're experiencing the energy
of what's going on in the world.

We're experiencing the, the grief and
the sorrow of the suffering of other

people, whether or not we realize it.

So there's going to be certainly.

A desire to root for the underdog.

To fight for the underdog with
this v venous, Chiron conjunction.

So we're gonna get to the big news,
but before that, I wanna just mention

that the moon is out of bounds.

Most of this week, so pretty much,
yeah, pretty much the whole week until

Friday, we have the moon out of bounds,
which just means that the moon is beyond

the path that the ecliptic the path
that the earth takes around the sun.

When the moon is a little north
or a little south of that path, we

call it out of bounds or any planet.

And when we have a planet out of
bounds, it means that it is either

striking out or hitting a home run.

You're feeling like a genius or you're
feeling like it just can't get it right.

So the moon is our emotions.

It's our body.

Moon.

Being out of bound most of this
week says that our emotions and our.

Body intuition and our, the
feelings in our body, the physical

feelings in our body, are all
gonna be probably heightened.

Um, on the other hand, you might
have a feeling of exhaustion, of

like, ugh, I just can't, and out
of bound moon is challenging.

It is in Gemini Monday, Tuesday,
Wednesday early Wednesday it

moves into cancer, but it's.

Still out of bound.

So Tuesday as I'm recording
this, you might be feeling

like I can do a million things.

I can manage all the things I,
my mind is doing a hundred things

and I'm killing it at all of them.

And then once we get into Wednesday,
Thursday, that moon and cancer

might be like, I need to shut down.

I need to power down, and I need
to just rest, take care of myself.

Go offline.

So just watch if the emotions feel
heightened this week or watch if.

The feelings in your body
feel heightened this week.

Okay, so the big news of the
week, of course, is that Saturn

sex tile, Pluto, we have not
experienced this since 20 12, 20 13.

Because Saturn and Pluto, just like
Saturn and Neptune, they meet every 35

ish years and they had their conjunction
the last time something pretty big

happened, and that was January 12th, 2020.

And if that day rings a bell to you,
it's probably because you've been

listening to this podcast since then.

Or it's because you know that that is
the day that Coronavirus 19 was named.

So January 12th, 2020.

In Wuhan, China, they named Coronavirus
number 19, and um, we know what

happened just a couple months later
when Mars and Jupiter joined Saturn

and Pluto in those late degrees of
Capricorn, it was 22 degrees Capricorn.

That was when COVID really took off.

Here in the us and beyond, you
know, it was, it was big outbreaks

in Western Europe, notably Italy.

And then, you know, of course it
was here and it was already here,

but we had the shutdown in March.

You can think back to that time
what was being seeded for you.

So there was something, some
responsibility, some burden, some sense

of purpose that was planting, being
seeded in the ground for you at that time.

And now this sextile, it's those
two planets working together.

They met up in 2020 and they said,
okay, we're gonna start on this new.

A 35 year plan, and now we're a few
years in and they're saying, Hey, how

are you doing on your part of the work?

What are you doing over there, Saturn?

What are you doing in Aries?

Pluto?

What are you doing, Aquarius?

So collectively we're seeing this, and
then in your own life you're seeing this.

So this is a big overarching theme.

Transit.

Era that we're living through
Saturn, Pluto, and then we have

Saturn, Neptune, in astrology some
of these timeframes feel so big.

But then we have these touch points
throughout that 35 years, like the

sex tile where we get to just check
in, and I always think that these

big overarching transits, they are.

Really helpful looking at human
history and the collective, but

they're also helpful in our own lives
because without even think preparing

for this podcast, I was just telling
the story two times this week about

how I started my cosmic yoga club.

It was online yoga club then.

In March when the pen shutdown happened,
and I had just been thinking about

that time a lot this week, and then I
realized, oh my gosh, of course it's

the Saturn sex tile Pluto, the opening
sex tile from that conjunction in 2020.

So the astrology, whether or what not,
we know it gives us the opportunity

to reflect and when we reflect.

We gain wisdom and it helps us take the
next right step forward with purpose from

a place of what is the reality of the
situation from a place of discernment,

all things that Saturn wants us to do.

So on Saturn's Day Saturday, we will
have that opening sex tile between

Saturn and Aries, Pluto and Aquarius.

And you'll get to decide how
are those guys working together?

What are you creating?

What's happening in your life?

What are the responsibilities that
are important to you right now?

What are the things that
you need to focus on?

And in classic Saturn fashion,
being discerning, how much

energy do you really have?

Is there anything that needs
to be let go so that you can

go full force on that thing?

In addition.

We are experiencing some of this
energy for the first time because

Saturn and Neptune are newly in Aries.

Pluto has been an Aquarius
for a couple years.

Really started in 2022, or was
it 20 anyway, couple years.

So these energies, these big
hitting planets, being an

Aries and Aquarius, it is.

A new energy that we're working with, and
it's going to continue to be amplified

as we move through the year, as we get
to summer, as we get to Uranus, moving

into Gemini, and then creating what we're
calling a magic triangle or minor grand

trine between Uranus, Pluto, and Neptune.

So this is a moment of illuminating.

What responsibilities are on top for you
right now, but it's also illuminating

a larger generational shift for the
collective humanity that we are all

living through and we are all having
an opportunity to craft together.

So I hope that's helpful.

I love chatting with you.

I love sharing these insights with you.

If you're not on my.

I'm on Instagram sharing reels here
and there about what's going on.

Astrologically.

I talked a lot this week or this
morning about what's going on with the

airline crisis and why was, why is the
airline crisis really coming to a head?

And one of the things that's
really powerful is this sun.

Illuminating Saturn, Neptune, because
Saturn and Neptune are this Saturn,

Neptune conjunction is illuminating the
systems that are being deteriorated,

that are dissolving, that are being
broken down, whether on purpose or

not on purpose, and Saturn is showing
us where do we need to rebuild.

Or does there, does this
need to be scratched?

Do we need to have a whole new system?

This system is certainly not
working for a lot of people, so

maybe we need to innovate something
completely new that is in align

with, in alignment with our ideals.

Thank you, Neptune.

Neptune Rules are ideals.

And then I'll leave you with the idea
that Rick Levine, one of my favorite

astrologers always says, which is that,
neptune is the reality, and Saturn is

the illusion that there ever was one.

We can chew on that, which is one
of my favorite astrology quotes.

So luckily Mercury is direct.

Mind you, that Mercury's still at
eight Degrees Conjunct the North node.

He's stationed at H Degrees last
Friday, so that's one of the reason this

Mercury retrograde has been so brutal.

One of the most brutal.

And the station has
been really beau brutal.

So one of the reasons that we're really
getting this message that our air line

system is in crisis is because the moon
at a bounds was squaring that mercury at

eight degrees still conjunct the north.

No.

So the sun, illuminating
center, Neptune saying this is

a system that is not working.

And then the moon out of bounds in
Gemini, which is of course air and

conversation and multitasking is talking
to mercury, which is of course messages.

And also I think of Mercury as
travel, of course, in some senses.

At least more local travel.

But nonetheless, we think of mercury
associated with travel and communication

and all of those things that we all
demonize when Mercury retrogrades.

And so Mercury, this, the moon
was squaring Mercury in Mercury's

sign of Gemini and out of bounds
and saying, Hey, look over here.

This is not working.

That is why our feeds are filled
with stories from the airport.

So if you're traveling,
really give yourself time.

Take lots of deep breaths, and I
send you lots of calming vibes.

Okay, that's it for me.

I will talk to you next week.

Bye.
