Full Moon in Scorpio: Release + Renewal
Welcome back to The Essential Astrocast.
I am your host, Veronica Perretti, and
this is the podcast that you tune into
when you want to know what's going
on up in the heavens, so that you can
dictate your fate down here on Earth.
So happy belated Mother's Day to all
the moms, the moms of human babies,
fur babies, other people's babies.
We had a wonderful but unexpected Mother's
Day, which makes sense 'cause we were in
the lead up to this full moon in Scorpio.
So the full Moon in Scorpio is upon us.
I am.
Recording this on May 12th in the evening.
The Full Moon perfected earlier today at
12:56 PM Eastern Time on Monday, May 12th.
So.
You are catching this after the
full moon, but you still have
time to do a full moon ritual.
you can always do a full moon ritual.
You can do it this whole week, frankly.
and I often feel that what's most
important is being in alignment
with your intention and what
you are wanting to align with.
Create, let go of, et cetera.
Full moons are a time of celebration,
of expressing gratitude for your
blessings, of feeling satisfied
and full and whole and complete.
So full moons are often associated
with letting go, and the truth
is it's not really letting go.
It's a time of your.
Apex of energy.
When something finally fully blooms,
like you see the tulips, they are
fully, open and alive and standing tall.
That is the full moon.
So it's a time of celebration,
but it begins the waning cycle.
And if there is something you want
to release, it is a nice time to set
an intention to release that thing
that might be blocking your growth.
This is a particularly potent full
Moon, for really honoring what
needs to be released, and that is
because it is a full moon in Scorpio.
Scorpio is the sign that is associated
with the depths of our subconscious.
It is associated with sometimes trauma or
pain or things that we hold onto tight.
The sun is in the sign of Taurus.
It's the fixed earth sign.
The opposite sign is Scorpio,
the fixed water sign.
Both of these signs really
know, how to hold onto a grudge.
So if you've got some old grudges, some
old resentments, some old pain, some old
emotional patterns, thought patterns,
ways of talking to yourself, ways of
thinking about yourself, your self-worth,
ways of operating in your relationships.
That are not working, that are outdated,
that are stale, that are making you
feel stuck, that are making you feel
held back, that are making you feel
like you're in the muck, then this
is a good full moon to write it on
paper and say, I wanna let it go.
I wanna release it.
I am now including my New Moon and Full
Moon Journal prompts in my newsletter.
So if you're not on my email list,
you're not part of my email community,
I don't know what you're waiting for.
Go on over to my website,
veronica perretti.com.
Perretti is two R's and two T's,
and you can sign up for my email
newsletters and I send about one a week
I will be including the Full
Moon Journal of Prompts I used
in my ritual today, in my email.
So you'll have them and you'll be able
to do your own ritual, whether it's,
the 13th or the 16th or the 18th or
whenever you decide to do it, whenever
you feel in alignment with doing it.
So the next week of the moon
cycle, we're going to be, releasing
Experiencing the, fullness and
the blessings that have come
from the work of the moon cycle.
the next week is really a week of
celebration and, seeing how things have
come to fruition and the last week of
the moon cycle, which will be, coming up.
Next week, that will be that time of
real release of really being like, I'm
putting this down on a piece of paper.
I'm ripping it up, and I'm putting
in the dirt, or I'm burning it.
So honor the things that make you
feel full and satisfied, and from that
place of feeling full and satisfied,
just notice what's keeping me from.
Really fulfilling whatever the
intention is that you've been working
on and cultivating and trying to
manifest, and how can you adjust?
Because full moons give us an
opportunity to see clearly.
It's a full moon.
It's illuminating the darkness.
It gives us an opportunity to
see what's going on so that we
can make the adjustment, and
that's the beauty of full moons.
So the full moon in Scorpio occurs every
tourist season, every spring when the
sun is in Taurus and the moon enters that
sign of Scorpio exactly opposite the sun.
The moon reflects back the
sun's light and full moons.
By nature because they are an opposition.
There's going to be an opportunity
to understand something from the
other person's perspective sitting
on across the table from you.
So this Full Moon in particular
has an opportunity to help us be
enlightened about something, to
bring light to something that we
were not understanding before.
Okay, so let's get into the astrology
of the full moon, because all the things
that are in the full moon chart are
going to be in the heavens this week.
So just because the full moon's
on Monday doesn't mean that all
these aspects that make up the full
moon chart are not impacting us.
We'll be working with them
for the duration of the week.
So even if you're listening to
this podcast on the 16th or the
18th or whatever, it's still
going to be pertinent to you.
So just a reminder, I'm
recording this on May 12th.
It's Monday night.
I did my full Moon Scorpio
ritual earlier today.
I taught the Full Moon.
Scorpio Ritual for my
Cosmic Yoga Club members.
so I am really vibing with
the Full Moon right now.
one of my favorite things about
this Full Moon is that it is.
Conjunct Uranus.
if you've been with me or you've
been listening to other astrology
podcasts, you know that Uranus is,
I call Uranus the real housewife of
the Zodiac because it is always a
shitster.
It can be like the best thing ever,
or it can be the thing that totally
throws a wrench in your plans, but it
always likes to keep you on your toes.
So Uranus is in Taurus.
It has been there for a long
time, seven years since 2018.
I am particularly fond of the
Sierras and Taurus because I actually
began reading people's charts.
In 2018 when Uranus entered Taurus,
and that was also right after Uranus
went over my ascendant, 'cause
I have a late Aries ascendant.
So it was particularly profound
for me and I have really
enjoyed Uranus being in Taurus.
I was reading something from
Christopher Renstrom today who's
a wonderful astrologer and he
was talking about how Uranus.
Transits often bring us
back to where we started.
But when we return to where we
started, we are maybe doing the same
thing, but we are a different person.
And I thought about that today and
it's been interesting 'cause I've been
playing with the idea of opening up more.
Slots for readings and keep
going back and forth on that.
I do have some spots open, so if you do
wanna do a reading with me, you can always
email me veronica@veronicapreti.com.
or if you're in my email
community, I send out a link with
my openings, every few months.
So I will be sending that out this week.
So make sure you're on the email list.
Okay.
So Uranus transits often bring us to
where we started, but we are coming back
to that place as an entirely new person.
We are coming back to that place having
experienced a whole revolution, right?
So revolution meaning, the
planets go around the sun.
That's one revolution,
but also a revolution.
personally.
It's interesting that idea that
Christopher Renstrom had, and I wanted
to share it with you 'cause I thought
it was profound and it was interesting
and it was making me think about my
own experience of Uranus and Taurus.
So Uranus is sitting with the sun,
they will conjoin on Saturday, May
17th, but we are feeling the lead up
and we're certainly feeling it with
this full moon and Uranus flavoring
the sun sitting opposite that.
Illuminated Moon, is certainly giving
us an opportunity to shift, to change,
to invite in a new way of doing things.
So if you've been feeling like, I've
gotta break through this, I've gotta break
through this haze, this muck, Uranus is
helping us do it with the sun coming and
You know, shining its light on Uranus.
And of course we'll be feeling
that all week and certainly
on the 17th when it perfects.
So I love that for us, it's good timing
because we just finished out that
very long, very arduous transit of.
Mars opposite Pluto.
We've been living with that in
one way or another since October,
and we're finally done with it.
The Cliff Notes version is that Mars
opposite Pluto makes us want to fight.
It makes us angry, it makes us frustrated.
It was this sort of simmering.
Energy that underlied and was
a current underneath everything
that's been going on since October.
Thankfully, Mars is now in Leo
out of his retrograde shadow.
He is fully powering forward in
the sign of Leo where he feels
confident and you might be noticing
that your drive is coming back.
So I noticed in the lead up to
this full moon that I have been
in a major decluttering phase and
I'm just so excited to be getting
to all of these house projects.
My husband and I both this weekend,
were like, I'm doing this and
I'm doing that and he's doing
this one and I'm doing this one.
Decluttering all of my son's toys
and giving them away, and we're just
doing a lot of house things, but I'm
particularly doing a lot of clearing.
I'm doing a lot of decluttering.
I'm doing a lot of making space,
and I think a lot of other
people are feeling that too.
Not only because it's of
course, spring, spring cleaning.
We're preparing for, you know, fun
summer months when we need less stuff
and we want less stuff weighing us down.
But I think part of it is that we were
so in the muck the past few months with
the retrogrades, which often are a time
of clearing, but we just felt stuck.
It was hard to make decisions.
And when you're clearing, you
need to be able to be decisive.
You need to be like, we don't
need this, we don't need that.
This doesn't fit.
I'm gonna release this.
There's a lot of.
decisions that have to be made.
So one of the things that's lovely about
this Full Moon is that we have that Uranus
Conjunct to the Sun, which is offering us
the excitement about making the change.
It's also exciting because it's the
last time that the Uranus and the Sun
will be together in the sign of Taurus.
For a long time and many of us won't
see it again 'cause it takes about 80
years for Uranus to go around the Zodiac.
So Uranus will be moving into
Gemini in July, get ready.
The summer is going to be wild.
So you wanna do your
decluttering this week.
You wanna make sure that
you've made your space.
'cause we've got a lot of fresh
energy coming in this summer.
But the other thing is
that we have Jupiter.
Squaring the nodes, and when Jupiter
squares the nodes of fate, it gives
us the faith and the self-confidence
we need to make the decisions to make
the choices that are gonna lead to
the next thing that possibly have long
standing impact or even are faded.
So.
That is part of this Full Moon story.
Of course, Jupiter scoring the nose is
happening, regardless of the full Moon,
but it's part of this full Moon story.
It's part of this feeling
of, all right, I feel full.
I feel complete.
I feel whole.
I can finally make decisions about what
I'm going to get rid of for my closet or.
Finally make decisions about what I wanna
do with the garage, or what I wanna do
with this room, or what I wanna do about
this relationship, or what I wanna do
about this job, or what I wanna do about
this, thing that's been hanging over my
head and I just haven't dealt with it.
So I think that's really helpful.
Part of what's going on this week,
and I encourage you to lean into it
Trust your intuition, trust your gut.
Have faith in your own intuition
and your knowledge of yourself.
No one knows you like you know you.
Okay?
So Jupiter is also sextile and Chiron
and Jupiter and Chiron are both making an
in conjunction or quincunx to the moon.
That is an aspect pattern that we
call a Yad or a finger of God, and
so that finger of God, it is pointing
to the moon and saying, Hey, pay
attention to that full moon in Scorpio.
It's really important.
There's something.
Pretty important going on here.
And the universe is trying
to tell you something.
Jupiter's sex, tele Chiron.
It is letting go of old resentments
and turning them into new wisdom.
'cause Jupiter is that faith.
Jupiter is that knowing that if
you take the next step, eventually
the staircase will appear So.
Letting go of the old pain, letting
go of the old trauma, allowing it to
be composted and turned into the food
that will nourish that new wisdom
that's coming, that new knowledge
that you've been waiting for.
Scorpio is really the co,
the cosmic compost bin.
It is where we take our old pain, our
old trauma, our old hurt, the things
that are really, really deep in the muck
of our consciousness or subconscious.
The things that are hiding at the very
back of the dark hall closet that you
never deal with, that is ruled by Scorpio.
So a full moon in Scorpio is always
gonna have us looking at the deep,
dark stuff that we'd normally.
Skillfully ignore, and the full moon
makes it so that we can't ignore it.
And that's not necessarily a bad thing.
It can be a healing thing,
it can be a freeing thing.
And Uranus being so close to
the sun really lets us know that
this is indeed a freeing thing.
Uranus, while he might be unsettling.
To say the least.
He's also working for our liberation.
Okay.
So it's the last week of tourist season.
we've got some big astrology
coming in the weeks ahead.
We do have Mercury Square Pluto
the same day as the Full Moon on
Monday the 12th, which means that
you might be getting messages and
information that you didn't know about.
You might be expressing something and
someone else goes, you've never told me
that because you know, mercury, Pluto,
it does bring up the unknown or gives us
words to express what we've been feeling
that maybe we weren't able to express.
But there's not a lot of transits
throughout the week until
we get to Saturday the 17th,
that's the sun conjunct Uranus.
And then on Sunday we will
have Mercury Square, Mars.
Mercury Square.
Mars is really motivating.
It can help us get the message out there.
It can help us have the conversation.
It can help us just do
the damn thing already.
So that is really useful on Sunday
the 18th, if there's something
that you just gotta do already.
Mercury and TAUs Square, Mars and Leo
Mars and Leo is nice and confident.
It might help us to do the thing.
Jupiter is going to be sextile
and Chiron on Sunday to be exact.
Of course, we're feeling it all week and
it does play into the full moon chart,
but that is the day that it will be exact.
So, you know, we'll be composting those
old wounds throughout the week and.
On Sunday, really allowing
them to become our new wisdom.
one of the other things going on
is next week, on Tuesday the 20th.
So jumping ahead a little bit,
the sun is gonna enter Gemini.
So this is our last week of Taurus
season and it's offering us some time
to ground our energy and decide how
we wanna move forward into summer.
Knowing that the astrological landscape
is pretty wild for the summer, we're
gonna have a lot of new phases starting.
So if there's stuff you have to wrap
up, let this week help you do it.
Let that mercury square Mars on Sunday
the 18th, be the thing that clears
your desk so that you are ready and
available to see what is coming.
I am excited about this.
I'm feeling really motivated and sort of.
Rejuvenated after the past, I feel
like this Full Moon is kind of
bringing some energy back to me, at
least after being in the muck, all of
2025, it's felt like such a trudge.
And we've got all of these
planets moving into Aries.
So later this month we are gonna
have Saturn move into Aries.
It's gonna be beginning of
a new 30 year Saturn cycle.
All of you.
Saturn and Aries babies, you
will be having a Saturn return.
All of you Saturn and Pisces babies.
You can say goodbye to your Saturn return.
Kind of Saturn will come
retrograde back into Pisces for
a short time later this year.
But mostly, you know, Saturn is wrapping
up his time in Pisces and it will be very
interesting to have Saturn and Aries.
I'm going to be talking about that.
In the coming weeks, but I'm also going
to be teaching a workshop on Saturn
and Aries, as well as Saturn throughout
all the signs and the Saturn cycle.
So every seven years we get a little
message from Saturn, we get a little
knock on the door, we get what people
might call the seven year itch.
It's the seven year Saturn itch.
So every seven years we get a.
Challenging or, you know, responsibility,
encouraging aspect or transit from Saturn.
So I am excited to talk about Saturn.
It's going to be on, I think May 31st.
I was deciding between
May 31st or June 1st.
But May 31st is Saturday,
and Saturday is Saturn's day.
So I think I'm gonna teach it on May 31st.
So again, you wanna be on the email
list because then you will know
when that link is posted and you
can sign up for the Saturn workshop,
which I am playing with the title.
Rings of time 'cause Saturn
rules time and Saturn has rings.
So I think that is what I'm gonna go with.
stay tuned.
I'm excited to teach my Saturn workshop.
And what else?
We've got cosmic conversation next week.
That is a free offering every
other week about, I get on
Zoom and we talk astrology.
I love the group that comes.
We have a very consistent group that comes
every other Monday at 5:00 PM Eastern.
last time we talked about
Pope Francis' chart and did a
little preview of the conclave.
now we have a new Pope, Pope Leo.
we're gonna look at his chart next
week and I am excited about him.
Pope Leo has some Leo
placements in his chart.
Go figure.
he also is a Virgo, so I am
excited to talk about Pope Leo.
And his transits and what was
leading up to him becoming poop.
So we'll talk about that as well as
whatever you guys wanna talk about.
'cause it's a collaborative space.
You come, you bring your astrology
questions and we get into it.
So you can get the link in my email
or go to my site and sign up under
events, veronica pertti.com/events.
And I will leave it there.
I hope you have a wonderful week.
I hope that you are basking in the
glow of this full Moon and Scorpio.
I hope that you're feeling grounded
and really allowing yourself to
take care of yourself and know your
worth because the Sun and Taurus
will not have it any other way.
And I'll talk to you next week.
Bye.
