New Moon in Taurus

Welcome back to the Essential Astrocast.

I am your host, Veronica Perretti,
and this is the podcast you listen

to when you wanna know what's going
on in the heavens, so that you can

dictate your fate down here on Earth.

The new moon that we have been waiting
for, I am recording this on Sunday.

the New Moon in Taurus is upon us.

So I'm recording this on Sunday, April
27th, and the new Moon and Taurus

occurred at seven degrees Taurus
and 47 minutes, and it occurred at

3:31 PM Eastern Time this afternoon.

So I'm recording this at night.

I just put my son down and I wanted
to make sure that I got to my

computer to record this because.

This New Moon is really, really, really
a good one for setting your intentions.

Now, new moons and Taurus are always a
good new Moon for setting your intention.

Because the moon is exalted in
Taurus, that means that the moon

is in one of its favorite places.

It's in the place where it feels.

Really powerful.

You can think of it as the moon
being this special honored guest

in the sign of Taurus because
the moon rules cancer of course.

But when the moon is in Taurus,
it's like we're rolling out

the red carpet for the moon.

And the moon in Taurus is answering to
the ruler of Taurus, which is Venus.

And of course the Moon
and Venus are the two.

Planets of the main planets that we
work with in astrology, they're the

two that embody the divine feminine.

So of course they get along and
work together, Venus is in Pisces,

and Venus is exalted in Pisces.

So Venus is in the sign where the
red carpet is ruled out for her.

So she's feeling like the honored guest.

She's feeling all powerful,
Because Venus is in Pisces, the

time of this new Moon and Taurus.

It is a particularly nice new
Moon for setting your intentions.

And it's kind of the new moon we've been
waiting for because it's the fresh start

that we've been waiting for all year.

And that is because if you've been
listening to me for a while, you

know that this whole year, the first.

More than a quarter of the year
is really defined or was really

defined by the retrogrades.

We had Mars retrograde
when we entered 2025.

We had venous retrograde and then we
had Mercury join them with a retrograde.

So luckily, mercury just exited.

Its.

Post retrograde shadow yesterday,
Mars is getting close to exiting.

Its post retrograde shadow.

So of course none of these
planets are retrograde.

Now I'm just getting you the information
on the shadow period because there's

always a shadow period before a
retrograde and after retrograde.

But there are no planets
retrograde right now.

All of the inner planets, personal
planets, Mercury, Venus, Mars.

Saturn and Jupiter
they're all moving direct.

Everybody is moving direct right now.

Even the outer planets are moving direct,
although Pluto will retrograde on May 4th.

But as I have said many times before,
when outer planets retrograde, it's not

nearly as big a deal because they spend
half the year retrograde, we feel them

most potently when they retrograde.

So toward the end of this week as
we move towards Sunday the fourth,

you might feel that presence of
Pluto a little bit more acutely.

most importantly, all of our
inner planets, all the planets.

Right now are direct, and that means that
things are really starting to take off,

that we're starting to feel that momentum
builds and we've been feeling a build

for weeks because Mars has been direct
and while he's been slow to get back up

to a quicker pace that he's comfortable
with, he's finally getting there.

And we feel or have felt the momentum
building as Mars had continued forward.

Once he clears his shadow on the
second that's gonna happen on Friday.

we're really gonna feel things taking off.

So this is a new moon that I
highly recommend putting aside

some time to do some journaling,
some dreaming, some thinking, some

putting those intentions, putting
what you wanna manifest onto paper.

Because Taurus is an earth sign.

Taurus is the fixed earth sign,
making it the earth ist earth sign.

It really likes things to be tangible.

It likes things to be in the material
realm, so some of the themes and

keywords that we can associate with the
sign of Taurus, steadfast, reliable,

practical, sensual, determined,
loyal, grounded, persistent.

Stubborn, pleasure seeking, security
focused, deliberate, methodical,

comfort loving, dependable, luxurious.

They love luxury.

They're stable.

Sometimes they're traditional.

and they can be really devoted
and they can be nurturing.

So the thing about this new
moon is that what you plant, the

seeds that you put into the soil.

The seeds that you, Throw
up into the universe, if you

will, are going to have legs.

They're going to have staying power
because that's the nature of Taurus.

Taurus likes to be in
things for the long haul.

It is steady, it is
reliable, it is predictable.

It stays the course.

So I implore you to do a new moon ritual.

I will be doing mine tonight.

with the New Moon and Taurus, I am going
to include some, journal prompts that

you can use in my email newsletter.

If you're not on the email
newsletter, this is a great

invitation telling you to join.

So go over to my website,
veronica perretti.com.

Right there on the homepage, you can
join the newsletter, once a week.

I send you the latest podcast
and some information about

what's going on in the sky.

And this one, I'm gonna include some
journal prompts for this new moon so

that you can set your own intention.

So with that, what is going on
with as we get into this new moon?

So why does it feel like a fresh start?

So we have finished eclipse season.

It is true.

that last.

full Moon that we just had.

The Full Moon and Libra that I talked
about on the last podcast, or last

two podcasts was on April 12th.

That was the official end of Eclipse
season, but we had Mercury with

the North Note at that time, and
Saturn and Venus traveling close

together approaching that north node.

eclipses are always linked to the nodes.

New moons and full moons that
occur close to the nodes of

fate are when we have eclipses.

on that full moon, while it was the
official end of eclipse season, because

it was a loo nation, the loo nation
that followed the last eclipse, kicks

out eclipse season, we still have these
planets mingling with that north node.

And so that makes things
feel a little eclipse.

It makes us kind of continuing
to stay in that, in that energy

feeling like, oh gosh, there's
something that has to happen.

There's something that I've gotta do.

Everything.

Feeling a sense of intensity,
a sense of fatness.

and of course, thankfully this
past Thursday we had Venus

and Saturn join together.

And they were close to that north node.

They have their conjunction,
and then they moved on.

They moved on from the north node.

And I don't know about you, but.

I felt such a sense of release this
past week, having Venus and Saturn,

thanks to Venus's retrograde.

They met up three times.

The first time was January 18th, the
second time was April 7th, and the third

time was this past Thursday, April 24th.

And I don't know about you, but
Thursday I felt this sense of freedom.

I just felt like.

Such a weight was lifted.

Venus and Saturn together, particularly
with that north node, can make

make us really hard on ourselves.

And it can make us really doubt ourselves
and feel like we're not good enough.

It can make us really critical of
ourselves, critical of, of our bodies.

'cause it's Venus.

so I don't know about you, but I felt
a sense of freedom on Thursday and

thankfully so we also had this huge
release on Saturday, April 26th, when.

Mars opposed Pluto for its third and final
time now, this is a big one throughout

the week and it's kind of wide with
this new moon, but it's still present.

The sun was squaring.

Mars and Pluto and Mars and
Pluto are opposite one another.

That creates what we call a T
Square, which is known for being

a source of friction or a source
of frustration or irritation.

We have been living with Mars opposite
Pluto, which in and of itself is

a source of frustration, anger.

Resentments, power struggles, desire
for control, feeling controlled.

It is a very intense, anytime
you've got Mars and Pluto talking

to one another, it's one of the more
intense aspects that we work with

or that we experience as humans.

So we've had this in the ether
back and forth since October.

So back in October, if you bring
yourself back there, we were

in the heat of election season.

We had Mars opposite Pluto.

We knew that this was gonna
be super intense time.

They officially opposed one another.

They were approaching for a
while, but they officially opposed

one another on November 3rd.

Thanks to Mars retrograde pattern,
they opposed one another January 3rd.

And now this is the third and
final hit of this that occurred

on Saturday, April 26th.

It was the same day that Mercury
exited his retrograde shadow as well.

So there's a great feeling of release
right before this new moon because

these very heavy, heavy hitter
transits that we've been working

with for a long time, thanks to the
retrograde patterns of Venus and Mars.

Are finally, finally over.

We do have one more coming up this week.

I'll get to it in a moment, but it's
has a little bit of a fresher feeling

for a few different reasons, but
put a pin in that we'll talk about

venous conjunct Neptune in a moment.

Having these two very heavy, intense
transits that often can make us feel like

we are being hemmed in like we are being.

Put up against resistance.

They both have their own ways
of feeling like we're pushing

the boulder up the hill.

Whether that is the way you're talking
to yourself because you're being

self judgmental or self-critical,
whether that is because there's some

sort of constraints being put on.

You could be both of those things.

Venus, Saturn, or Mars, Pluto.

it could be you desiring to
have more control than you do.

That's Mars, Pluto.

It could be someone else trying to exert
their control and their power over you.

Very common for Mars, Pluto.

So all of these things add up to
this has been a really tough time.

So if you are sitting there saying,
God, that sounds really tough.

Yeah, you've been living with
this in one form or another.

Since October, and then the
venous Saturn since January.

So we've been working with really hard
transits and we've been working with them

in this, on and off again, way for months.

And Venus and Mars are two
of the personal planets.

They're the planets that
are closest to Earth.

So whatever happens with Venus and Mars,
we're going to feel it really intensely.

I call these the planets of relating.

Venus shows us what we value,
how we wanna be valued, what

we love, how we wanna be loved.

Mars shows us what we desire.

Mars shows us how to go after what we
desire and get it, and Venus teaches us

about allowing ourselves to receive what
we desire and knowing that we're worthy.

So these are some of the fundamental
things of being human, understanding

what we want, being able to get what we
want, and then receiving what we want.

And this is the basics.

These are the security items like
food, water, but they're also the.

More complex stuff like love and
feeling cared for, and feeling like

you are living your purpose and
feeling like your life has purpose

and that your life has meaning.

So this is big stuff that
we've been working with and

unpacking with these transits.

So hopefully some things have
come into crystallization for you.

Some things have.

Gotten a little clearer, particularly
with the help of the eclipses.

They tend to

be like a catalyst for taking whatever's
going on and then blowing it up,

making it really super duper clear.

So now that we're past a lot of this very
intense stuff, I've just spent the first.

15 minutes of this podcast talking
about what we've been working with.

We now have this new moon to
help us experience this clean

slate of, okay, now I've gotten
through this really hard period.

What do I wanna manifest?

What do I wanna create next?

And.

I work with a technique called Lunar
Families, and I mentioned it in the

last podcast, and it, it's a way of
working with the moon cycle that's a

little bit longer or a lot bit longer.

So the idea is that this
new moon, it matches with a.

Quarter moon that will occur
in nine months and that paves

the way for a full moon.

That will occur nine months after that.

So 18 months from now, we will have
a full moon in October of 2026,

and that Full Moon and Taurus, if
you subscribe to this technique

of looking at Lunar families will.

Be the apex point of this new moon.

So you might wanna consider, what do I
wanna be creating and manifesting that

will come to fruition in October of 2026?

And I know that seems so far away,
but I promise you with this technique,

when I look back at the things that
I set intentions for in my journal.

Is always so profound to me, how
they play out over these timelines.

So maybe in the fall I'll do
a workshop on Lunar families.

I think it's a really cool technique and
it's something I use a lot personally,

but back to this full new Moon where
we are, the new moon's happening at

Seven Degrees Taurus, as I mentioned.

it is a particularly potent and auspicious
new moon because, the moon is in its sign

of exaltation answering to Venus, the
ruler of Taurus in its sign of exaltation.

it is of course creating a wide
T square to that Mars opposite

Pluto, which I mentioned.

So if that is something you wanna
consider, the release point of this T

Square would be Seven Degrees Scorpio.

And so I thought about that too, and
I thought, okay, well one of the ways

to work with this New Moon, knowing
that it has this wide T Square to this

very intense opposition that we've been
working with is how are you gonna release?

Well, you're going to let go.

You're going to, release whatever trauma
or burden you've been carrying with you.

That is the essence of Scorpio,
the release point in Scorpio.

If you've been feeling stuck, you
wanna move toward those Scorpio themes.

And those themes are
following your passion.

Diving really deep into something,
following your intuitive hunch,

acknowledging your desires.

Those are some ways to honor
that Scorpio part of your chart.

So anyway, those are some ideas of
how to move work with a new moon.

I'm going to include some, some journal
prompts in my newsletter, as I said,

so make sure that you are signed up
for that and then, you'll get those.

Uranus is also in the sign of
Taurus, and it's been there for

quite some time since 2017, 18.

So Uranus is actually trining
and sextiling the nodes, which

means that Uranus is helping us
make the changes because Uranus

teaches us about adaptability

Taurus is not a sign that likes to adapt.

It likes to stay the course.

As I said, it likes to dig its heels
in and keep the status quo going 'cause

that's what feels safe to Taurus.

So Uranus being in this harmonious,
flowing aspect to the north node and

the south node, it does give us a
little bit of help to invite in change.

With this New Moon, particularly in the
parts of your chart that we're working

with, which are the fixed signs, the parts
of your chart, that House Taurus, Scorpio,

Leo, and Aquarius.

Okay?

So make sure that you do your ritual.

I am trying to get this up to you tonight.

I'm recording this on Sunday.

And I don't wanna make it a super long
podcast 'cause I wanna be able to get

it up to you quickly so that you know,
to do your ritual tonight or tomorrow.

So tomorrow being Monday the 28th,
Tuesday and Wednesday the 29th and

30th, they're not as good days to do
the ritual, but if you wanna wait, you

can wait till May 1st, which is ine.

Or Friday May 2nd because those
days the moon is gonna be in cancer.

So with intention setting around
the new moon, the rule of thumb is

it's always most powerful within the
first 24, 48 hours, but of course

you can do it within the first week.

As the moon is waxing, my rule is whenever
you feel in alignment with what you want

to create, that is the moment because
that's the moment that you personally

are feeling in alignment, and maybe
there's something that is activating

your chart that is supporting that.

I always say you dictate your own
fate, but since you're listening

to this podcast, my assumption
is that you probably wanna know

when the universe is gonna be,
you know, pushing you from behind.

So the best time with this new moon is
of course, within that first 48 hours.

the moon is gonna go
into Gemini on Tuesday.

2:34 AM Eastern time and the
Gemini moon, it's gonna be a little

cranky, so it's not gonna be the
best time to set your intentions.

So then wait, if that's the case,
until May 1st, May 2nd, when the

moon is in her home sign of cancer.

Okay.

And then she'll be a little happier.

So that is my recommendation,
just because this New Moon is

so potent and really giving us.

The fresh slate that we've been craving
all year that we've been dying for.

It feels like we've all been stuck
and moving through molasses and just

really spinning our wheels, trying
to get that forward momentum, and

this new moon really kicks that off.

So the other big thing that's
happening this week is that

On April 30th, Venus
will enter Aries again.

So if you recall, she retrograded way back
when, and she retrograded at 10 degrees

Aries, she retrograded on March 2nd, and
then she's stationed direct April 13th.

And she's been working her way
through those late degrees of Pisces.

So as I've mentioned the past few
weeks, late degrees Pisces, early

degrees Aries, lots of action this year.

So much is happening in
that part of your chart.

It will continue to happen.

but that late degrees of Pisces,
we've really been releasing

because Pisces is not only.

The sign associated with letting go, it
is associated with letting go because

it's the last sign of the Zodiac.

Aries is the first sign of the Zodiac.

Aries is spring equinox.

It's the rebirth.

So the spring equinox
is truly the new year.

astrologically.

So Pisces, those planets being at
those late degrees, Pisces are really

asking us to let go of something.

We we're all being asked to release
something that's probably been really

valuable to us and make space for what's
new because so much of what's happening

this year is happening in the early
degrees of Aries, which means that.

The era that we are entering into with
all of these outer planets moving.

and with Saturn and Neptune,
both being in early Aries this

year, we're entering a new era.

We are really, truly, we don't
know what's around the bend.

We are truly preparing for the unknown
and One of my favorite quotes from Dr.

Martin Luther King, or my favorite quote
from him is, take the first step in faith.

You don't have to see the whole staircase.

Just take the first step.

And that is the essence of the astrology
that we're living in right now.

So with that, Venus is entering
Aries again because she

stationed to retrograde in Aries.

And so she's back.

she will reenter Aries on Wednesday.

Venus will leave her post
retrograde shadow on May 16th,

so that's coming as well.

But this will be her third and final
time for now meeting up with Neptune.

they first joined on February
1st at 27 degrees Pisces.

Then as Venus was retrograde, they met up
at 29 degrees Pisces on March 27th, and

now they're meeting up for a third time.

Neptune is now an Aries, we
talked about it a few weeks ago.

So they are meeting up
at one degree Aries.

Neptune has already gotten to one degree.

this is the first time in our lifetimes
that we will experience Venus and

Neptune joining Conjoins in Aries.

because, you know, Neptune has
not been in Aries before in our

lifetime until about a month ago.

It takes about 165 years for
Neptune to go around the Zodiac.

So every time that one of
these personal planets.

Joins with Neptune, we have an
experience that we've never had before.

Just a couple weeks ago, we had Mercury.

He was the first one he joined with
Neptune and Aries, and that was a

moment where I think a lot of people
felt like they could find their

words again and speak what they.

Really meant and speak from
the heart with clarity.

And now Venus will join Neptune and
Neptune tends to make things foggy,

but Neptune, in Aries, we're gonna see
what that looks like because Neptune

in Pisces is where he's at home.

Neptune, in Aries, it's a
whole different ball game.

Aries is a sign that is clear,
it's concise, Zero fluff.

It just puts its head
down and goes forward.

You know, it doesn't look to the left.

It doesn't look to the right.

It's not worried what
anyone else is doing.

I mean, we're talking
about the collective.

We're not necessarily talking about your
natal Aries placements collectively.

Aries is a go for it sign.

Right?

So Neptune and Aries means that

we are, I.

Going to have our beliefs.

We are going to have our faith,
and we are going to have our values

and our ideals, and we're gonna
go for it based on those things.

Neptune rules our relationship with
faith, along with the planet Jupiter.

it is the subconscious.

It is where we go when we dream,
where we go, when we meditate,

where we go, when we sleep.

So, yeah, we'll see what that feels like.

But Venus and Neptune joining at one
degree, Aries is going to be exciting.

I think Venus and Aries in general
is, she doesn't mess around.

She sees what she wants
and she goes for it.

So when she joins with Neptune,
I think she's gonna get real

clear about what she's going for.

And she's gonna make it happen.

So pay attention on Wednesday
to how you're feeling.

and that's it.

Those are the main things
that are going on this week.

I am super excited to see how this new
Moon plays out for all of us, over the

next few weeks to feel how it, everything
feels with the momentum kicking back up.

it'll be amazing to
see what this new moon.

Plants and seeds for us that comes
to fruition over the next month,

but over the next nine months,
the next 18 months, et cetera.

I really encourage you
to do your Newman ritual.

And that's it.

That's why I wanted to make
sure I got this out to you.

I am opening up a few slots for
readings, so if you want to get a

reading with me, make sure that you
are on the newsletter and you will

always know when those spots open up.

I open up spots once a quarter
now, and they're very limited.

So make sure that you go
to veronica perretti.com

and sign up for my email community.

Cosmic conversation will be coming
up in a few weeks, so you can always

go to the events page of my website.

And sign up for that.

It is entirely free.

I love chatting with you.

We have a beautiful community that
comes together every couple of

weeks on Mondays at 5:00 PM Eastern.

And, we just talk about what's going
on in the sky and what's going on with

our own lives, how we're feeling, the
energy, and sometimes we look at the

charts of notable people in the public.

So that's what I got for you.

I'm gonna get this up for you so that
you can enjoy your new Moon ritual,

and I hope to talk to you next week.

Bye.
