Full Moon in Leo brings Uranian Chaos
Welcome back to The Essential Astrocast.
I'm your host, Veronica Peretti, and
this is the podcast you listen to
when you want to know what's going
on in the heavens so that you can
dictate your fate down here on earth.
It has been a week.
So I am finally feeling a
little bit more grounded.
past few days have been rough.
I am recording this on
the 12th of February.
So it's Wednesday.
and this is, we're in the
last week of Aquarius season.
We had the full moon today.
Of course, I mentioned that
in last week's episode.
And this full moon came
with a square to Uranus.
So what does that mean?
The sun is in the sign of Aquarius.
The moon is in the opposite sign of Leo.
And they are both forming a
square to Uranus in Taurus.
And Uranus is the planet that is
associated with shaking things up,
stirring things up, causing chaos.
It's the rule of thumb with
Uranus is expect the unexpected.
We've been living in a very Uranian
time, so it kind of feels like part
of the course right now, but if
you feel like your nervous system
has been really overloaded, this
Square to Uranus from the Sun and
the Moon has really amplified that.
So you might be really reaching your
edge or have gone over the edge this week
if you weren't taking care of yourself.
self care is imperative right
now and self care does not mean,
you know, taking a bubble bath.
It really means making sure that
you're eating enough, sleeping enough.
detaching from the phone, not
following every minute of news
and protecting your peace.
So doing all the things that you
need to do, whatever those things
are, and you know yourself best.
So if that means moving your body, if
that means meditating, if that means
being in nature, whatever it is for you
and make time for it, for me, it means
making sure that I'm only dipping into
the news twice a day for short stints.
I'm not obsessing all day long.
I'm making sure that I'm eating enough.
I'm making sure that I'm hydrating.
I'm making sure that I'm getting
on my mat, even if it's just for a
few minutes to stretch it out, to
lay on my back, to breathe basics.
It's just really Honor what your basics
are and then double down on those.
And if you need help with that, you
can join us in Cosmic Yoga Club.
And I really, really think this is
a time more than any other where
Cosmic Yoga Club is really helpful.
Having the routine, having the community
to support you in showing up for yourself.
is really, really helpful.
So if you've been thinking about it,
come on over, join cosmic yoga club.
You can go to cosmic yoga club.
com and sign up and join us.
You can cancel anytime.
And we meet Monday, Wednesday,
Friday for yoga and we practice
in alignment with the astrology.
So we're practicing in alignment
with the sun and the moon cycles.
and we honor the new moon and the full
moon each month with a restorative
practice on the Sunday nearest
the new moon or the full moon.
It is a great time to join
us in Cosmic Yoga Club.
Okay.
plug is over.
I'm going to get back to the astrology.
If you feel like things are
a little electrified, that
is a signature of Uranus.
Uranus is also the modern
day ruler of Aquarius.
So when we look at rulership
in astrology, we generally
look at the traditional rulers.
So the traditional ruler
of Aquarius is Saturn.
But we consider Uranus to be the
modern day or the co ruler of Aquarius.
And so, you know, we are in
Aquarius season, we've had a lot
of Aquarian energy happening.
We've talked a lot about how Pluto is
now in Aquarius, camped out for 20 years.
We've talked about how Pluto
being in Aquarius is, is we're
entering a new era where we're
creating something completely new.
So this is the beginning of a
20 year transformation in the
Aquarius part of your chart and
the Aquarius themes of our society.
And those themes are science, technology,
social movements, humanitarian
movements, groups and communities
coming together around shared ideals.
And we're seeing more and more of that.
As we experience this full moon,
amplifying some of those aquarium
placements, with the sun and mercury
last Sunday joining, we saw that
we started to get some fight.
We started to get some marching
orders from those in power.
needless to say, You know my politics,
you know where I stand on this, you know
that I feel very strongly that this is a
time of fortifying our communities, coming
together, taking care of one another,
and riding out this period of destruction
so that we can be part of the rebirth.
And that is what Buddha was
always talking to us about.
It's always teaching us
a lesson in resilience.
And we are getting quite a lesson.
And we're going through a Pluto
return of our country and that Pluto
return some might say started in 2008.
I would say it really started
in 2020 and maybe 2022, but it's
been a few really hard years.
We've been experiencing this
Pluto return and it's been
intense and we're still in it.
You know, I think what we're seeing right
now is the embodiment of our Pluto return.
I was looking today, at some dates, and
of course, when we talk about the U.
S.
chart, we look at the chart, from
July 4th, 1776, but you could
also look at the chart for when
the Constitution was ratified.
The founding of this nation really
took place from late degrees
of Capricorn all through pretty
much about 21 degrees Pluto.
And we're at 2 degrees Pluto.
So we're, we got a ways to go.
So I know it feels chaotic.
I know it feels overwhelming.
And you know that is by design, that is
what the powers that be want, and you
have to take care of yourself so that
you have the stamina to run the marathon.
So that is my little, you know,
self care PSA of which I'm pretty
much giving every week because
we all need to be reminded of it.
this full moon.
Squaring Uranus, it is impacting
our fixed sign friends the most.
So if you are a Leo, an Aquarius,
a Taurus, or a Scorpio, or you have
placements in those signs, they are
being amped up by this full moon.
Full moons in Leo are generally emotional
full moons because Leo is the sign
of the heart and it's a fire sign.
And we fire signs, I can say that
because I'm an Aries with a whole
lot of Aries, are pretty emotional.
So you might be feeling amped up,
you might be feeling emotional,
you might be feeling so emotional
that you've worn yourself out.
that's kind of how I'm feeling.
all that is to say that, we're feeling
it and the full moon is bringing
to light whatever we need to see.
It is not only electrifying things,
potentially electrifying your nervous
system, but it's also illuminating.
It's illuminating what we need to see.
And sometimes the things that it's
illuminating are not things that we want
to see, but we're seeing them, right?
Whenever there's a full moon, that
means that something is getting
illuminated, but then there's
still something in the shadow.
So that is part of life, working
with what's in the light and what's
in the dark, working with what's
in the shadow, working with the
parts of ourself that are darker,
working with the parts of ourselves
that maybe we don't like so much.
You might feel that this full moon
is illuminating where you feel a
lack of love or a lack of validation.
And where you need to hone in on self
love and self validation, because you
can't really accept validation from
others and love from others until
you are giving that to yourself.
And that is one of the
prime themes of Leo.
One of the prime themes of
Leo is allowing yourself.
to be loved fully, completely
unconditionally, and knowing that
that has to come from within as well.
and we're all getting a
lesson in that, right?
So we're all learning that
in some way, shape, or form.
We all have Leo somewhere
in our chart, right?
You have all 12 signs in your chart.
Even if you don't have planets in those
signs, you have those signs in your chart.
So we're all going to learn those
lessons at one time or another,
and this full moon is illuminating
that Leo part of our chart where we
potentially need to learn those lessons.
Okay.
One of the things I'm loving about the
full moon is that the full moon really
felt like it was a intense lead up because
we had Mercury square Uranus on Monday.
Then we had the Sun Square Uranus
on Tuesday, and then we had
the full moon early Wednesday.
And on Sunday night, we had the Super
Bowl and we had Kendrick Lamar do
the halftime show, which was epic.
And I've watched tons of videos
analyzing just all the incredible
nuance that was layered in that
performance and All of the various ways
that he's expressing his creativity.
that to me is the epitome of Leo that
unabashed self expression, that authentic
and come from the heart integrity
in the way you express yourself.
But I also, of course, had a look
at his chart and I was like, Oh,
Kendrick Lamar is like the embodiment
of Uranus for us right now.
He really was shaking things up.
He was there on one of the biggest stages
in our culture and saying some things
that, of course, a lot of Americans
didn't understand or didn't agree
with, and really taking truth to power.
with.
The president of the United
States sitting in the stands.
So it was pretty powerful.
I don't have to explain it
There's a million tick tock videos
that you could watch about that
There's a million articles online
that you could read about that.
But what I do think is interesting
about it is that Kendrick Lamar?
Has Mars at 17 degrees cancer and
guess where Mars is right now?
17 degrees cancer and it's toward the top
of his chart And the top of your chart is
your legacy and how the world sees you.
So it was pretty powerful and that
is a good example of how retrogrades
are not always a bad thing.
We are having a Mars retrograde that
everyone is bemoaning, including myself.
But look, that Mars
retrograde is creating.
Such a powerful moment for Kendrick
Lamar, you know the previous Sunday He won
five Grammys and then this past Sunday.
He was on the biggest stage in our
culture one might say and Really brought
the house down and everybody's talking
about it and can't stop talking about it
And it's all anyone's talking about this
week other than the news the politics so
although that is the politics too, but I
digress so that is pretty cool that this
Mars retrograde, and Mars is slowing down
because Mars is going to station soon.
So he's really hanging on
at that 17 degrees, cancer.
So he is experiencing this Mars return.
And it's a long Mars return for him.
He's getting three hits
of that Mars to his Mars.
And sometimes with retrogrades, when we
have these planets return to where they
were in our chart, and then they're slow
because they're retrograde, we experience
the essence of that planet even more.
And we certainly saw his motivation, his
drive, his, his desire to express himself
and what's important to him on display.
Mars and Cancer also, full disclosure.
Please don't take offense if you have
a Mars in Cancer can be kind of petty
and really good at holding a grudge.
And we know Kendrick Lamar,
you know, he can hold a grudge.
So, really fun to see that
astrology play out in real time.
We're gonna dive deeper
into his chart on Monday.
I will be hosting my next
Cosmic Conversation on Monday
the 17th of February at 5 p.
m.
Eastern Time.
You can save your seat.
It's free.
You can save your spot
in the show notes below.
I'll have the link there.
You can also go to my website.
And on the events page, you'll always see
the link for the next Cosmic Conversation.
Cosmic Conversation is my free gathering.
I'm hosting it every other week now.
And it's on Zoom.
We come together, we talk
about astrology of the moment.
And something I'm doing now
more, because I have a lot of
astrology enthusiasts in there.
Some people who are getting
used to looking at charts.
we're sharing.
the chart of, you know,
people that are notable.
We looked at Chapel Roan last time,
because it was right after the Grammys.
and we'll look at Kendrick Lamar this
next one on the 17th, because of his Super
Bowl performance, and because I'm just
loving his chart right now, and it's just
lit up, and it's so much fun to look at.
And a really great opportunity for
learning if you are looking at charts.
So join us, go save your spot,
and I'll see you on the 17th.
Okay, so the Sun and Mercury joined
together on Sunday at 21 degrees Aquarius
and you notice that you started to
get a little bit more marching orders,
some organizing going on, people
are joining together, we're kind of
getting out of that place of despair
and moving toward coming together.
I put in my calls last week.
If you have not started doing
this, you can go to five calls.
org five, the number five calls c a l l s.
org.
And just pick the issue
that's important to you.
It gives you the phone number of
your representatives and a script so
that you can make your calls to your
representatives and have your voice heard.
And this is imperative.
Such a small thing that you can do.
It takes really one minute
of your day to make one call.
And the idea is that you can
do five calls in five minutes.
if you only have one minute, do one call.
It also helps your nervous system
because when we sit and we doom
scroll, and we obsess about what's
going on in the news, we just feel
more and more helpless and hopeless.
When you take action, even if
it's something as simple as
calling your representative, it
shifts the energy in your body.
You start to feel like you're
doing something because you
are, you start to feel like you
have a little bit more power.
You have a little bit more control.
So making sure that you are taking
actions that put you in a position
where you feel like you are empowered.
the other thing is that Mars trine
Saturn I thought would probably slow
things down and that's what's happening.
Things are slowing down a
little bit thanks to the court.
It's not as slow as we would like
it to be, but you know, all things
considered a little bit of a pause,
a little bit of a slowing down.
Okay, so the truth is I'm reviewing
a lot of things that already
happened because this week was
really jam packed on the front end
and a couple things are coming up.
So first thing.
First, Mercury will
enter Pisces on Friday.
this is nice because it's Valentine's day.
Now Valentine's day, truth be told,
should really be a week later.
It should really be in Pisces season
because Pisces is romance and poetry
and music and art, but Aquarius
is like, let's join together and.
organize the rebellion.
so it's not really Valentine vibes, but at
least Mercury will enter Pisces on Friday.
So, we'll be more apt to enjoy
the music, the poetry, the.
Romantic conversation, because at
least that's where our brain will
be, because Mercury rules, our
thought processing and how we take in
information and how we express ourselves.
So, lean into that, pull up some
poetry that feels romantic, put on
some music that feels romantic to you,
and enjoy that for the next few weeks.
The other thing that is going on is that
the Sun will enter Pisces next week.
So that will be on Tuesday.
So I'll talk about that more next week.
But I want to give you a little
preview of it and say that the Sun
enters Pisces on February 18th.
And that will be the beginning of
the last Sun season of the year.
So that's the last season of the
year in the zodiacal calendar.
So when we look at the Astrology
we see the spring equinox as
the beginning of the year.
That's when the Sun enters Aries So the
Sun in Pisces is generally a time of
transition from the winter to the spring
It's that last four weeks of hibernation.
It's that time of rest,
reflection, turning inward.
And it's interesting because, of course,
none of us are getting much rest these
days, but it is really important to
prioritize reflection retrograde now.
Mars will station direct on February 23rd.
That's when we're already
going to be in Pisces season.
We'll have a little gap and then
Venus will retrograde on March 1st.
So this Pisces season is going
to host this shifting of energy.
Mars going direct, Venus going retrograde.
Now, I mentioned this in my year ahead
workshop, my 2025 year ahead workshop,
which you can still purchase and watch
the replay lots to come this year.
So you haven't missed a ton.
The first half of the year is really,
really taken up with these retrogrades.
So I talked about how it's
a slow start to the year.
Now mind you, it doesn't feel
that slow because of what's
going on in our world events.
But imagine if we didn't have
these personal planets retrograde,
it would be really head spinning.
I mean, it's already head spinning,
but it would be out of control.
Sometimes the retrograde save you.
So, Just note that, you know, this Pisces
season is going to be shifting energy.
So on one hand, we'll feel motivated
and excited to move forward.
But on the other hand, we're still
going to be in reflection mode
because Venus retrograde is about
reassessing what's important to us.
Our values, our relationships, our money.
Okay.
So Venus will be retrograde.
So I want to give you a little tease of
Venus retrograde, which I'll be talking
about more in the coming weeks as well.
Venus will retrograde in two weeks.
she's going to retrograde on March
1st, 2025 at 10 degrees Aries.
What's really interesting about this is
that Venus retrogrades in the same spot
or about the same spot every eight years.
And this is something we
call the Venus star point.
So as Venus makes her path through
the universe, she creates the star
like or flower like pattern, it's
also called a Fibonacci spiral.
So, this is a really unique thing about
Venus, and her retrogrades are sometimes
said to be the hardest because they are
an invitation to reassess the things that
are most important and closest to us.
So Venus will be retrograding,
and eight years ago, guess who
was in the White House, just
starting his administration, 2017.
It was March 4th, 2017, when we had
Venus retrograde at 13 degrees Aries.
This time it's going to be 10 degrees
Aries, but it's still going to be
the same portion of your chart.
So anything you have around 10
to 13 degrees Aries, it's going
to be lit up again by Venus
stationing, just like it was in 2017.
You might remember in 2017, we had
Elizabeth Warren silenced on the Senate
floor when she was trying to read Coretta
Scott King's letter about Jeff Sessions
and his suppression of black voters
when he was up for a G when they were.
Debating his nomination for attorney
general and what a difference eight
years makes we were in a very different
political moment All of that is to say
that I remember that so Clearly and when I
thought of this when I started researching
this Venus retrograde That moment came
to my mind and I remember watching it
on Facebook live because in 2017 we
were all on Facebook That has changed.
No one's on Facebook anymore,
at least not that I know.
I mean, obviously a lot of people
are, but it's not where most of us
are spending our time on social media.
So what a difference one eight year Venus
cycle makes and we are We're going to see
some more of those things play out, right?
We're going to see women rising up.
We're going to see moments
of women, taking leadership.
And I remember at that time, Mitch
McConnell said, nevertheless,
she persisted because she wasn't
listening to him telling her to stop.
Stop reading the letter.
And nevertheless, she persisted
became an ongoing rallying cry
for women across the country.
And I remember because I had I think
that was my banner on Facebook and I
had a sticker and lots of things that
said nevertheless, she persisted.
So people took this criticism
and made it a badge of honor.
That she wouldn't be silenced.
Nevertheless, she persisted.
She persisted in reading the
letter and that's very Venus
retrograde taking the criticism.
owning it, making it yours and
wearing it as badge of honor.
It's the essence of Venus
retrograde, especially in
Aries where Venus is a warrior.
So we'll talk more about Venus and Aries.
I'm excited to dive into
Venus retrograde stuff.
I'm hoping that this Venus retrograde
in Aries, Venus entered Aries
and we saw people start to get.
So I'm really hoping that this Venus
retrograde brings us back to some of that
energy that we felt in 2017 on the heels
of the Women's March and all of that.
Remember, Venus Was in her pre shadow
when that happens with Elizabeth Warren
We've been feeling the shadow of Venus
retrograde in Aries creeping in so it's
been coming it's felt different But you
know, we're gearing up women are gearing
up March 1st, she will retrograde.
It'll also be an interesting retrograde
because she will retrograde with
a sextile to Jupiter, and that
chart of the moment she stations is
ruled by Libra, which is her sign.
So we'll dive into that deeper
in the weeks ahead, but I
wanted to give you the teaser.
the takeaway of this week, and can
you believe that I thought this was
going to be a short episode, and now
I'm here closing in at a half hour.
The takeaway of this week is that.
The intense stuff was in
the front end of the week.
Friday, Mercury will move into Pisces.
We will hopefully allow our
brains a rest this weekend.
Things will calm down
this weekend, I hope.
astrologically it looks like things
should be calmer until Sunday evening
because we'll have the moon square Mars
which will be a little bit sensitive.
But overall, things should chill
out in the latter part of this week.
use that time to take care of
yourself, to calm your nervous system.
