[00:00:00] Welcome back to The Essential Astrocast. I am your host, Veronica Perretti, and this is the podcast where you come when you want to make sense of what's going on in the heavens so you can dictate your fate down here on earth. Welcome. I am sorry I wasn't on the microphone last week. I, did not want to put something out on Monday or Tuesday that would be irrelevant on Wednesday.
And then once the week went on, I felt such despair, such sadness, such intense disappointment, and existential dread that I had really nothing to give or to say. I really want this to be a place where you come to feel inspired, to feel [00:01:00] motivated, to feel rejuvenated, to feel restored.
And I really had nothing for you. So I am still feeling some intense, deep sadness. I've been turning to my spiritual studies. I have been pulling back from information overload. I am not paying close attention to the news. Many of you know that I am a total political nerd.
My husband and I. are way too up on everything I'm really considering doing a media deprivation week Where I do not look at any media whatsoever. I Was talking to my acupuncturist today and we were both saying that we need to do that.
So we might support each other in disconnecting from social media news media from all media other than maybe some fun TV shows or reading a [00:02:00] novel. if that feels inspiring to you, feel free to do it. Let me know if you do it. I'll be lucky if I make it a day, but I'm going to try.
Maybe I need to start with a day and see if I can get to a week. I do think we all need to do whatever it is that we need to do to take care of ourselves and our nervous systems. today it's probably going to be a little bit of a lengthier episode. I am going to do a little election recap. and talk about the astrology.
So I am still in a very emotional place. I Shared with you guys a bonus episode on Kamala Harris's solar return chart. That is still there. I Really did not I pretty much gave the caveat that that wasn't an unbiased prediction.
I made a very biased prediction But this is where astrology is so interesting And this is a great lesson for all of us I always say [00:03:00] The planets do not do things. We as human beings have free will. We make choices and those choices have consequences. My friend Catherine Urban, who I adore, you should definitely check her out.
She did an incredible election prediction. She was so objective and so academic in it. I'm going to share a link, to her, recap last week on where the prediction landed in the show notes. also if you're not on my email list, get on my email list.
you can go to VeronicaPerretti.com right in the homepage, sign up for the email list, and I'm going to include the link to her piece in that email this week. I loved what she said, which is that Donald Trump. is the embodiment of our Pluto return. when I looked at the charts, I looked at the charts from the perspective of, looking at someone's natal chart.
I looked at Kamala Harris's chart [00:04:00] and then the transits. I looked at her chart and the chart of the USA. I looked at Donald Trump, same thing, transits, progressions, the chart of the USA. And I realized That was a mistake in some ways, looking at it from that perspective. I really think that I need to look at these things from the perspective of the USA chart and then the transits.
It's almost like the elected officials, the people that are influencing the culture are happening to the country. The country is not happening to the people. I hope that makes sense. I really think that I. Could have looked at things differently, but again, I did not bring you the Kamala Harris solo return bonus episode to be making a prediction.
I was very clear that my prediction was biased, but she has Pluto, squaring her luminaries. And so that [00:05:00] is big transformation. The thing about Pluto is, Pluto is the planet associated with destruction for the sake of transformation.
He destroys things for the sake of the rebirth. He is the one that makes way for the Phoenix to rise from the ashes. So whenever we go through a Pluto transit, It increases our resilience. It is stressful. It is difficult. It often brings death and destruction. And I mean that both figuratively and literally.
And from that, we grow stronger. From that, we become a new person. We have our own experience of rebirth. personally, I've been living through a big Pluto transit for quite a few years because Pluto is squaring Pluto in [00:06:00] my chart as well as squaring my ascendant. before that Pluto has been in Capricorn since 2008.
Pluto has been hitting all my Aries planets because I have a lot of Aries planets and Capricorn squares Aries. So I have been having Pluto since 2008 on again, off again, but very intensely the past few years. in those years, I have gone through some of the biggest life changes you can experience.
So in this time that Pluto has been in Capricorn, I found my path as a yoga teacher my father died I met my husband. got married. had a baby. I went through planning several weddings through COVID through a pandemic. You know, I went through challenges with fertility.
I went through a lot of tough stuff and all of that tough stuff packed into a [00:07:00] short time frame. really has built my resilience, particularly the last few years, because I would say Pluto squaring my Ascendant has been the, hardest or most potent part of my Pluto transits
I also have Pluto in a prominent position in my chart. So I kind of feel like I'm never without Pluto in some ways. All of that is to say that Pluto transits can be really challenging, but they can also bring the biggest payoffs. You know, now I have this family that I could not have imagined having in 2008 when Pluto entered the sign of Capricorn.
So my little ramble, I told you it was going to be rambly today, and I told you that it's probably going to be a longer episode. My little ramble is to say that when we see Pluto, we know that that means transformation. And so having Pluto squaring Kamala's luminaries, her sun and moon, her full moon [00:08:00] in her chart, it just felt like this is it.
This is jumping off the page. And Donald Trump didn't have that. so yeah, for many astrologers, it was wishful thinking to say she was going to win, but it also was astrology jumping off the page. And as I talked to my friend Catherine the other day, because she had done a very academic, objective prediction.
I said, astrology can't be objective because we live in a subjective world. And frankly, we have to take into account the systems within which we live, particularly the systems of oppression within which we live that include racism and misogyny. And I really should say misogyny and racism in that order.
And yeah, we can't look at the [00:09:00] astrology without looking at that. So we believed that people
would appeal to their better angels, perhaps, and that wasn't what happened. And of course, my politics are very clear. So how I feel is how I feel. We also know Jupiter is in Gemini and we knew that propaganda and disinformation and misinformation was going to be running rampant. And we have Saturn and Pisces and Neptune and Pisces and there's a vastness that we're trying to tame.
And then we look at the U. S. chart. we've got Mars in the North Node right now, and Mars is opposite Pluto, and that brings rage, anger, there's a lot of things we could look at. Maybe we will get together on zoom for the next [00:10:00] cosmic conversation which is my free offering, once a month.
You come join me on zoom and we talk astrology and look at some charts. Maybe for the next one, we'll look at the U S chart and do some of that work. But for now I wanted to give you something to hold onto in terms of how I'm understanding all of this.
I am understanding this as part of our Pluto return. So it takes about 250 years for Pluto to go around the Zodiac. So you and I as human beings will never experience a Pluto return, meaning we will never experience Pluto coming back to exactly the same spot where it is in our chart. Apologies if you hear my cat.
And we know that countries and cities do experience a Pluto return. And we have been in our Pluto return. Some would say since 2008 when Pluto entered Capricorn. I would say more [00:11:00] like 2022 maybe. The jury is out on when the Pluto return begins. But Pluto is at about 27 degrees. Capricorn in the chart of the USA that we use, we call the Sibley chart.
And we have Pluto now at 29 degrees Capricorn. when we were first looking at this election, I thought this will not be a change election. because Pluto is still in Capricorn. if you've been following along for the past few years, you know that Pluto has dipped in and out of Aquarius.
We had Pluto go into Aquarius for a few months the past two years. And now, this month in November, we will have Pluto enter Aquarius for good. He won't be coming back to Capricorn ever again in our lifetime. [00:12:00] Good riddance. When I first looked at the election, I thought, okay, Pluto at 29 degrees, Capricorn is symbolic of the patriarchy.
It is the father archetype. Capricorn is tradition. So I thought, okay, that means that we're going to be stuck with the same, And then when the big switcheroo happened, and we had Kamala Harris come onto the stage as the nominee, I thought, okay, well, maybe I'm wrong, maybe the 29 Degrees Pluto Capricorn at 29 degrees.
Remember that I said this year is the year of 29 degrees. There's a lot of things happening at 29 degrees and 29 degrees is a crisis point in astrology. It means that if something doesn't happen right now, it's never going to happen. Or I have to do this right now. Time is running out.
It's that [00:13:00] energy. because we are looking at the election being right before Pluto enters Aquarius for good, and because the inauguration is once Pluto is in Aquarius for good, that will be the turning of the page to the next generation, the next era, right? Apparently I was wrong about that.
I was hopeful that was the case. But the truth is we're still in our Pluto return. we have to remember that we use that chart of July 4th, 1776 as the birth of our nation. Pluto was at eight degrees Aquarius when the Revolutionary War was over. So I don't think we are done with our Pluto return.
I think we are in it. as my friend Catherine Urban said so eloquently, Donald Trump is the embodiment of Pluto. He is our Pluto return. I don't think he [00:14:00] is one man is the whole Pluto return. I think it is, he's the symbol. He's the symptom. He's, It's the illumination of the darkness of the shadow side of our nation.
And there's a really big shadow side. There is a lot of darkness and he is showing it to us inadvertently, of course. the symbol of our darkest nature. is being shown to us. And remember what I said at the beginning of the podcast, Pluto likes to destroy things. He likes to burn it down for the sake of its rebirth, for its transformation.
many people believe that politically we had this opportunity to change the system from within to reform it, to make it better, to make it work for the people. And that [00:15:00] hasn't happened. And so now here we are. I think a lot of people voted for burning it down. Whether or not they know they voted for that is another conversation.
But, that's where we are. I am scared. I am, that's an understatement. but I am also really certain that we all chose to incarnate, to be on the planet at this time, to be with each other and to be a part of whatever the revolution is. And Aquarius is the sign associated with revolution. And it's also associated with rebellions.
Pluto will be going into Aquarius for good, as I stated. so we will have a quick Pluto and Aquarius and Pluto will get to eight degrees Aquarius, as I mentioned on [00:16:00] April, 2028. that will be when we are in the next presidential election cycle. So we will be looking at the nominees for the next. Catherine's beautiful, eloquent words of Donald Trump being the embodiment of our Pluto return or of Pluto itself felt really poignant to me.
And then when I looked and I saw, Oh my gosh, we're going to get, to eight degrees of Aquarius, April, 2028, when we're looking at, Our next batch of presidential nominees and probably living in a very different world than what we know right now. it will be pretty wild.
And remember, four years is a long time, but it's also fast. four years ago, we were all wearing masks and very, very scared. And now, life is totally different than when we were spraying down packages. It will be a different world four years from now, but we get to be a part of creating it. [00:17:00] And the one thing that is really giving me a lot of balm for my soul, is that half of the country voted for each other.
You know, this was not a landslide election. A lot of people are saying it's a landslide. It is not. Not all of the numbers are in. It is not a landslide. Landslides are like, you know, Reagan got 60 something percent of the vote. You know, this is not a landslide when all the data comes in.
It was a coin flip election Unfortunately, it went the direction it went. I think it makes me feel better that I know that there are a lot of people out there that are feeling the same feelings that I'm feeling. all the wisdom traditions teach us that [00:18:00] we are part of one consciousness.
We are all part of this cosmic consciousness, whether you believe that God is in everything or we are made in the image of God, whatever your understanding of spirit is, all the wisdom traditions teach us that we are parts in a whole. One of my favorite yoga teachers, Eric Schiffman, talks about how we're all part of the ocean and each of us is just a wave and at different moments we pop up and say, Hi, I'm up here.
we think that we are an individual. We think that we are powerful. and have control. And then what happens? The wave goes back down and becomes part of the ocean again. each of us is part of this collective cosmic consciousness and we each have our individual [00:19:00] consciousness within that.
When we forget that we are part of the vast ocean is when we experience the myth of separateness. I was listening to a podcast from Tara Brock that I thought was really helpful in talking about this concept. So I'm going to share that link in the show notes as well. I used to be really into A Course in Miracles.
Some of you might be familiar with it, But there's a concept in the Course in Miracles that everything boils down to one of two emotions, love or fear. to me, love is emblematic of inclusion, community, feeling abundant, feeling like there's enough to go around. It's shown in exclusion, [00:20:00] isolation, scarcity, feeling like there's not enough and you have to fight and claw your way to get what's yours.
Fear is when we believe that we are separate from one another, that we are not interconnected, that we are not part of that vast ocean. When we forget that we're part of that vast ocean, when we feel alone. We try to control and when we feel lost and scared and confused because we don't remember our true nature as part of that cosmic consciousness, that fear makes us hoard resources and try to control to ensure our safety as an individual.
that is the essence of Pluto. Pluto is greed, hoarding [00:21:00] resources, control, being underhanded.
Pluto is also the destruction of what is for the sake of something better. for the rebirth, for the transformation, for the new life. So all of these things lead us back to the same place, which is sort of my thesis for the day, which is connection and community is the key to overcoming the illness. of believing that we are separate from one another.
And Pluto and Aquarius will implore us to find our tribes, to find our community, and [00:22:00] to, for lack of a better word, I heard someone say this on Instagram, to DIY our own support systems. Because Unfortunately, it seems that the next four years will be a dismantling of many of the support systems that we do have, the limited ones that we have in this country.
So again, this is a longer episode. If you're still listening, thank you for hanging in there with me. I'm going to share those resources I mentioned in the show notes. and get into the astrology now. I think it was important for me to share all of that and I hope it was helpful in some way to you.
So we got Mars and Pluto going on, you know, Mars opposite Pluto. We knew there would be strife. We knew there would be anger. We know there'd be discord. We knew there would be [00:23:00] overwhelming. Rage and Fighting for control. right now. I'm going to give you a few dates mars opposite pluto perfected at 29 degrees cancer opposite pluto at 29 degrees capricorn on november 3rd people were already voting inching toward the end we will have mars retrograding soon So we're already in the Mars pre retrograde shadow period, which means we're already seeing some of the stories that are going to be cropping up for us.
So first of all, Mars did go into Leo on Sunday, November 3rd, right after the opposition to Pluto. And Mars will be in Leo through the end of the year. But he will retrograde on December 6th. I am going to do a bonus episode just on Mars, retrograde for you coming soon. But in the meantime, just know December [00:24:00] 6th, he is going to retrograde.
We're already getting pieces of the story that we're going to be working with. When Mars retrogrades, it's like sandpaper going back and forth over that part of your chart. So through a lot of friction, it smooths it out.
Mars and Leo is fun in a lot of ways because Mars and Leo is like Confidence and optimism and being big and bright and allowing yourself to be seen. But on the other hand, Mars and Leo can be big egos. It can be bids for attention. It can be competitiveness. So I hope [00:25:00] that you experience Mars in Leo as a call to be confident and be in your glory and accept compliments.
Please accept compliments. Leo wants you to enjoy being loved and adored. revel in what feels good for you. Be authentic to yourself. These are all things that Mars and Leo motivates us to do. But be aware of arrogance. Just be aware of overconfidence in the sense of, rubbing the wrong people the wrong way
And let yourself love if you're not allowing yourself to be vulnerable, this Mars retrograde might show you those places where you can allow yourself to be vulnerable. Now, we've got that Mars opposite Pluto in the sky. We're still feeling it. We're going to have it recur, meaning it's going to visit us again, thanks to the Mars retrograde on January 3rd.
Mars will be at one degree Leo and Pluto will be [00:26:00] at one degree Aquarius. And then again, April 26th, when Mars is at three degrees Leo and Pluto is at three degrees Aquarius. So we are stuck with this energy of Mars opposite Pluto off and on through the spring. And yes, we will have Mars in Cancer because Mars is going to retrograde in Leo, but he's going to go back into Cancer.
We're going to have Mars in Cancer for quite a few months and Mars in Cancer can be pretty passive aggressive. Cancer itself can be a sign that has nationalistic tendencies. The U. S. is a cancer chart. July 4th is when the sun is in cancer. So we are a cancer nation. And Mars retrograding in cancer, it's going to be interesting.
I think there's going to be a lot of buyer's remorse from a lot of [00:27:00] people. in terms of the election, I think that's clear But there will also be this protective mama bear energy and that can go one of two ways, That can be the people you love trying to protect one another and the people that are subscribed to a particular nationalistic view, trying to protect that.
So we're all going to be trying to protect something with Mars retrograding cancer. I encourage you to find your tribe. I encourage you to be in community with people in person. You know, I love, I'm in very, I'm in many online communities and I love them, but it's really important to be in community with people in person because we evolved and our brains evolved for thousands of years of in person interaction and only the past.
You know, a few decades, we've been [00:28:00] having these online interactions and nothing like what it's been the past 10 years. So, Pluto and Aquarius is going to bring more technology. It's going to bring more surveillance from the government and other entities. It's going to bring more AI. It's going to bring more robots.
It's going to bring more science fiction into reality. But Aquarius is groups, it's community, it's friendships. So connect with the people that are your tribe and connect with them in person if you can. Of course, it's not possible always and I do love my online communities, but If you can connect with your neighbors and, have that human interaction in person in the flash more often, I think we're all going to find that really soothing right now from the perspective of just our nervous systems, but also really important in the years ahead, having an in person [00:29:00] community in your local area that you can rely on to build those DIY support systems is going to be really crucial.
other things going on this week, Venus enters Capricorn. that happened today. I am recording this on November 11th, 11, 11. Venus and Capricorn is more serious. She's more somber. she can be analytical. she's answering to Saturn cause she's in Saturn sign and Saturn is stationing direct this week.
So Saturn will station to go direct on Friday. Saturn. spends about five months of the year, retrograde. It's not a big deal. Nothing to worry about. Not unusual. He's stationing to go to rect. So it might feel like things start to shift in their energy. I don't think the outer planets, you know, Jupiter and Saturn are kind of bridge planets.
They bridge the inner planets to the outer planets, but I don't [00:30:00] really think that Him being retrograde or direct is going to change things too much, but where you will feel it is this week because one planet station, that is when we feel them most acutely. And there is a heaviness in the air because so much of this week is Saturnian.
there's heaviness because of what we're dealing with emotionally. in our society at the moment, there is Extreme sadness. That is the only way I can describe it. I don't even have the energy to muster anger. I'm just sad and Saturn is sadness. It's melancholy. It's Heaviness and we're feeling that depression this week.
So Saturn is stationing. We're feeling Saturn, but Venus is also answering to Saturn now. Venus was in Sagittarius, she was answering to Jupiter. She was having a good time, and now the joy has been sucked out of the room and we're stuck with Saturn. Saturn can be [00:31:00] heavy. Mercury is also squaring Saturn, which means that our mind is going to be feeling a little bit weighed down.
but it's great for doing practical things, and it's great for doing tedious work. So if you need to, get your finances in order, get your paperwork in order, renew your passport, you should be doing those kinds of things. it's a good time with Mercury square Saturn to be minding your Ps and Qs and getting things in order.
we also have a full moon in Taurus at 24 degrees That means the sun is in Scorpio at 24 degrees on Friday, opposite the moon The full moon is ruled by Venus, who is answering to Saturn. So this full moon might feel a little bit heavy. We might be feeling a little bit like we're moving in slow motion.
Venus is also squaring the nodes on Friday. when she squares the nodes, there's a choice to be made. Whenever any planet squares the nodes, it means that we're making choices that are [00:32:00] fated. They will have some impact on our destiny. Okay, so Venus squaring the nodes.
You might make a change in a relationship. maybe something shifts in the relationship. this full moon is conjunct Uranus. Uranus is the shaker upper. he likes to bring about the breakdown for the breakthrough. So Uranus can be impulsive and a full moon conjunct Uranus means that we're going to be feeling a little impulsive. We're going to have a desire to rebel, to stand out, to go against the grain. There might be a great opportunity for being innovative, for finding new perspectives, seeing something in a new way.
with Venus wearing the notes, it could be an impulsive breakup or a fight because Venus does rule our relationships. she rules our money as well. be careful with the decisions you make this week around money [00:33:00] relationships and the things that are most important to you because Venus rules what we value.
Most importantly, do things that soothe your nervous system, that elevate you, that bring a little bit of light. Look for the light this week, because with all this Saturn energy, things are going to feel heavy. You might feel down. You might feel the existential dread that I've been feeling.
So we really need to work on lifting each other up and focusing on the things that elevate us. right now I'm watching Hacks on HBO Max and I love it. It makes me laugh. It makes me forget about the world. It's just really fun. So look for the things that elevate you, that lift you up, that uplift. Look for the joy.
Look for the [00:34:00] things that bring a little light in. so that's what I've got for you this week. There's so much happening astrologically. It'll be a jam packed, few weeks ahead. I will be here to guide you through it. Thank you for sticking with me if you're still listening.
if you like the podcast and this was helpful to you, please share it with a friend and I'll talk to you next week. Bye.
