Veronica Perretti [00:00:00]:
Welcome back to the essential astrocast. I am your host, Veronica Peretti, and I am happy to be with you. I am recording this on October 2, the day of the solar eclipse. Of course, the solar eclipse is not visible in the US, not visible in most of the world. I think it's visible in Uruguay and Paraguay, not visible to most of us unless you're in that part of the world. But we still feel the energy. Apologies if you hear my cat crying. He is feeling the energy of the eclipse too.

Veronica Perretti [00:00:36]:
I am coming to you late this week. This is going to be a short episode because truthfully, there's not much happening other than the eclipse. This week. We have yet again fallen sick in my house, although not bad, just the common cold. And Jeremiah is finally better. My son gave it to me, and we gave it to my husband, grandma, and the nanny. It's been a little busy, but I'm finally feeling better today, and my son is feeling better now. My husband is just in it.

Veronica Perretti [00:01:04]:
It's a good reminder that eclipses often are challenging for our vitality, for our life force. The sun is our life giver, our pranaya, our sense of self or identity. When the sun is obscured because of an eclipse, our prana, our life force, our vitality, is also obscured. So you'll find that a lot of people feel tired or burnt out or spent or simply sick. They're more run down and therefore more readily available for germs, whether it's a common cold or something else. Last week I had a little stomach bug for 24 hours, and then the next week we had the cold. This whole eclipse season, I just felt my body needing a little more support. You might be feeling that as well, but I just wanted to mention that.

Veronica Perretti [00:02:02]:
So remember, eclipse season, if you have the ability, just, you know, do the things that make you feel good. So you are feeling like your energetic resources are filled up, making sure you get enough sleep, water, eating, taking time for yourself, whatever that means for you. So just a little psa at the top. The new moon solar eclipse occurs when there's a new moon near one of the nodes. That basically means the moon is blocking our view of the sun. We can't see it here in the United States, but we still feel the experience of the sun being blocked out. So when you has a full moon, lunar eclipse, and the moon is blocked out, whatever is in the shadows becomes easier to see. The stars near the moon become really bright to your eye because they were in the shadow of this full moon.

Veronica Perretti [00:03:14]:
Eclipses tend to show us what has been in the shadows or hidden from our view. Pay attention to maybe what is coming into focus for you at this time. So one of the things with eclipses is that we don't do manifestation work. We don't do intention setting. We really sit back and let the magic of the eclipse itself do its work and take our cue from the universe. So instead of initiating, we receive and respond. And so this is an interesting time because, of course, my big saying is you dictate your fate. I tell you guys that all the time.

Veronica Perretti [00:03:58]:
I truly believe that astrology is a mirror for us. It shows us the patterns and the cycles and can give us a lot of indication of what to expect. But at the end of the day, it's just another tool to deepen our experience of understanding ourselves. And while I generally don't set intentions around eclipses, I always say that your intuition is number one. So listening to your intuition is number one always, regardless of whatever astral rules I tell you might exist. So if this new moon feels, like, really powerful for you and you want to set an intention, by all means, you are welcome to do that. Now, this new moon is interesting because it's with the south node. So a new moon with a south node, it still has a release energy to it.

Veronica Perretti [00:04:54]:
So I found it really interesting. I find that these types of solar eclipses with the south node, meaning it's a new moon with the south node, they're usually liberating. So there's something that you're being liberated from. And it's interesting because I was doing a reading today, and the person that I was reading for had a lot of Venus energy in her chart because she had a lot of Taurus and Libra, which are the two signs that are ruled by Venus. And we were talking a lot about this idea of breaking free, liberation. And so that is, of course we're talking about it because it was the new moon, solar eclipse in Libra with the south node. So the past few days I was feeling really heavy as the planets came and went into the south node. So you can imagine the south node void, and as the planets move through it, there's a sense of release or heaviness or loss.

Veronica Perretti [00:05:55]:
And so as the Mercury moved through the south node, the sun, and then the moon, it just felt heavy. Our new moon grows at ten degrees. The south node is at six degrees, which is why it's not a total solar eclipse in the parts of the world where you can view it. It's what we call an annular eclipse. Which means that there's a ring of fire around the moon. So you see that the sun's rays, like a big red circle or orange circle around, so it's an annular eclipse. All of that is to say that we had these planets because the new moon is conjunct Mercury. We had those three planets, Mercury, sun, moon, move through the south node over the past week or so.

Veronica Perretti [00:06:43]:
So there was a heaviness, there was a feeling of letting go. And the time before a new moon is actually the most appropriate time to release. So if you were feeling the desire to release or let go or if you were feeling a sense of lack or loss before the moon entered Libra, before the new meeting in the past week or the past few days, that makes perfect sense to me. And I was thinking about it because I was like, why do I feel so heavy and down? And I really was feeling very heavy and down Sunday, Monday. And now I realize, oh, my gosh, it was like these planets were moving through the south node and there was a sense of lack. But now we're on the other side of it and we've had the new moon and we're moving forward, and this is the second eclipse of two. And eclipses can come in pairs or threes. I think they can actually even come in fours, but usually they come in pairs, typically.

Veronica Perretti [00:07:42]:
So this was our second of the pair. And so while we are, we're still in eclipse season until we get to the next lunation. So in two weeks, when we have the full moon in Aries, that will kick out eclipse season. So for now, you still want to keep your ears and eyes and intuition, inner knowing peeled. I for whatever just seems to be coming up. You know, sometimes with eclipse season, you're so set on a path and then something comes into view and you're like, oh, wait, maybe I want to change that up or maybe I have another path available to me that I didn't realize was even there. So just notice if those things come into view. That's why I say we don't dictate the energy or put our agenda on the energy of eclipses.

Veronica Perretti [00:08:39]:
We allow ourselves, receive it, and then respond to it. Also great for reflection today. This morning before the eclipse, I sat down and I went through all of the dates of this eclipse series that started March 2023. So it started right after I gave birth to my son. And the last eclipse in this series will be in March 2025. So it's a two year cycle. We've been working with this story. Whatever this story is for you that's taking place in the part of your chart that holds Aries and Libra.

Veronica Perretti [00:09:17]:
Those opposite points in your chart are being excavated by these eclipses. So I was going back through the dates and just noticing how I felt. I was rereading old journal entries because I'm usually a pretty good journaler. Since I had a baby, I'm not nearly as good as I used to be. I used to be a daily journaler, and my goal for this October is actually to get back to that practice because it really is so spiritually fortifying for me. It just really makes me feel connected to myself. And I was thinking about it, like, I looked through all those dates and I thought, oh, my gosh, I just saw how I felt at each of those eclipses, and I was really, really spent at sun, like the last one six months ago. Oh, my gosh.

Veronica Perretti [00:10:08]:
I was just really at the end of my rope. I had been sick, like, every four weeks in a row, three times in a row, or four times in a row. So just it's really useful to use these eclipses as little bookmarks. Look back in your calendar at those dates, see what you were feeling, see what was going on, what were you spending your time with, and just notice what is the story that's unfolding for you. And I'll list those dates for you so you can go back and check. So the first date was April 20, 2023. That was at 29 degrees Aries, and it was a solar eclipse, which means it was a new moon. And then we had October 14, 2023, was a solar eclipse at 21 degrees Libra.

Veronica Perretti [00:10:56]:
March 25, 2024, lunar eclipse at five degrees Libra. I was lucky enough for that to be my solar return. So I've got this eclipse in my solar return chart this year, which has been interesting and learning a lot about eclipses this year with the help of that solar return chart. And then April 8, that was the big solar eclipse at 19 degrees Aries. That was visible in a lot of the United States. So you most likely remember that one and what was going on for you. And remember, everybody was talking about the eclipse, and everybody was like, I'm going to be an eclipse chaser. I wonder if those people are in Uruguay or Paraguay today.

Veronica Perretti [00:11:43]:
So, and then this one, this is the next one that has happened today on October 2 at ten degree Libra, and it's a solar eclipse. And we will have our final one in this series in March 2025. So more on that once we get to march. But just so you have that date. It is going to be March 29, 2025, nine degrees Aries. And that will also be a solar eclipse. It's really interesting. This series has been a ton of solar eclipses.

Veronica Perretti [00:12:22]:
So all of that eclipse seasons, they write a story for us, and it's up to us to peel back the layers and find the thread that weaves the story together, that weaves the chapters together. Okay, so what else is happening with this eclipse? We have a grand trine in water, so we've got three planets in Libra. Libra is all about people pleasing, right? Libra is about justice and equality, but it's also about making your partner happy and oftentimes putting their needs before your own. I shouldn't say it's about that. The stereotype is that often Libras are people pleasing, but there is a desire to be loved, and there is a desire to partner up when someone has a lot of Libra in their chart with the south node and Libra, this series of eclipses is really about letting go of those habits that make you lose yourself or anytime you're putting someone else's needs before your own or your own expense. That's something that we're trying to release with this series of eclipses. On a collective level, it's also an experience of witnessing injustice and inequality and lack of fairness in the world, because those are things that also are ruled by Libra. Libra is associated with the courts, the law.

Veronica Perretti [00:14:06]:
Libra is symbolized by the scales of justice through the scales. So we're always looking for balance of my needs and your needs in the partnership with Libra, we're looking to balance that. We're looking to feel as if there's an equal energy exchange. But what often happens with leap replacements is that they put too much of the emphasis on the partner and not on themselves. So this eclipse cycle that started in March 2023 and is ending in 2025, it is me versus we. Me is Aries. We is Libra. Me.

Veronica Perretti [00:14:48]:
Aries. Aries is, like, the stereotypical only child. I can say that because I'm an Aries and an only child. So Aries desperately wants to be loved, but they want it to be for being them. You know, like, hi, I'm here. They just want to be adored for being them. And I know a lot of Aries pretend that there's half and, like, they don't need other people's love and adoration, but trust me, we do. And I think with the north node in Aries, so many of us are coming to realization around our own individuation, our own independence, our autonomy, and our ability to lead the way.

Veronica Perretti [00:15:34]:
Be a pioneer, fight for the cause that's important to you. So those are some things that are coming out with this eclipse, but we also have a grand trial of water. And of course, we know that too much grand giants can bring too much of something, and we have too much water thanks to the hurricane in North Carolina. So my heart goes out to all those people. It is devastating. And of course, astrology and planets don't make things happen, but they do mirror what's happening on planet Earth. And so we see the patterns, we see this grand shrine in water, and we see that we have a lot of water. But water also symbolizes emotion and it symbolizes blood.

Veronica Perretti [00:16:19]:
So to me, this grand shining water, it just has so much to do with the emotional content of this eclipse and the relational content. I think a lot of people are finding that this eclipse is bringing up a lot of emotion around your primary relationships, because Libra, of course, rules relationship, particularly one on one relationship. And for many of us, our primary relationships are with those people that share our blood, those people that are our family, as well as our, you know, partners. So that's the eclipse. Most importantly, you want to pay attention to the stories that are unfolding. You want to do a little reflection. There is a square to Mars. The eclipse is a little bit biting.

Veronica Perretti [00:17:12]:
So the eclipse is a little bit biting with Mars Square, but it does mean that it's going to move stealth. So whether or not you initiate, whether or not you take action, I think this eclipse is going to move a lot of energy. One last thing to take note, all these planets in Librona, they're answering to Venus in Scorpio, and she is intense. Venus rules Libra, but when Venus is in Scorpio, she takes on an intensity, she takes on a heaviness, a deepness. Everything has to have mean. So you might be getting into some deep, deep, deep stuff that might be coming from really old wounds, might be coming from stuffed down emotions. So really take care of yourself. And just so that everybody else is feeling that this week, so the only other transits this week that are really notable, they are still present in the eclipse chart, and that is Venus trine Saturn, which will perfect on Friday, and Mercury Square Mars, which will perfect on Sunday.

Veronica Perretti [00:18:35]:
Venus trine Saturn is fortifying. It is really helpful for your relationships, for your money, for your values. It will just give you a sense of stability. Sunday, Mercury Square Mars, you're going to have so many ideas and get stuck in, like, just thinking about all the ideas, analyzing all the things you could do. The best thing when Mars is involved is to just take action on something and move mental energy. So as you can probably hear my voice, I'm starting to have a little bit of a dry throat and cough because I'm still getting over this cold. So I am going to close it out there. Really.

Veronica Perretti [00:19:19]:
This week is about the eclipse. There's not that much else happening and I'll be back on with you next week. I'll try to get it out on Monday so that we get prepared for next week. We have Jupiter retrograding next week. Not a big deal. Don't worry about it. Jupiter retrogrades every year. Very normal.

Veronica Perretti [00:19:39]:
But that's it. If you want to come to my new moon solar eclipse ritual, I am hosting that on Sunday for members of cosmic yoga Club. But I do open it to the public. I do open it to the public for a drop in rate, which is on my site. So you can go to veronicapuretti.com event. While you're over there, go to the homepage of veronicapuretti.com and sign up for the email list. That's where you get all the good stuff. First, a very limited availability for readings, and I am going to open up a few slots in November exclusively for people on the email list.

Veronica Perretti [00:20:21]:
So if you've been wanting to get a reading with me, make sure you're on the email list when that goes up, and that's it. I hope you have a wonderful, wonderful rest of your week and the eclipse is treating you well. Reflect, meditate, do whatever it is, grounds your energy, and be open and curious to what is in the moment. All right, I'll talk to you soon. Bye.
